Parlux hairdryers

My hairdryer is on its way to the graveyard. I'm thinking of getting a Parlux as I've hear they are great quality/last a long time.

Any recommendations? I'd prefer a compact one if possible. My hair is straight.

I think a £15 hairdryer is the same as a £150 hairdryer.

I've tried many over the years! Never noticed a single difference.

I always use parlux, they are great quality. Odd times i have deviated to ghd etc i have been disappointed as they have not lasted very long.

I’ve had my Parlux for 14 years this Christmas. It works as well as it did when I first had it and I’m so happy with it. I bought a new cheap hairdryer for the flat I stay in for work and it just doesn’t compare at all. Similarly when I stay with my mum, hers feels underpowered and weak compared to my parlux, and my hair is more frizzy, less shiny, and just a bit flat. So, I recommend. I don’t know what model I have, I’m afraid. Just a basic one though. I bought a universal diffuser to go with it (couple of quid from Amazon) as mine didn’t come with one and I like using a diffuser for waves sometimes.

I had a Parlux for a long time. It was very good. Powerful. Have you noticed a lot of hairdressers have them? I think that's quite telling.

On the downside, I always found it quite bulky to pack if I was going away. I've now got one of the Dyson ones which, although horrendously overpriced, is a lot smaller and lighter.

Get the Parlux 3500 supercompact, then, 17cm long, 20cm high.

Get the separate 3500 diffuser and you can also use the extra silencer on all models.

I bought a Parlux after having a lot of recommendations on here.

The difference between that and my old hairdryer is so vast that even my hairdresser noticed I was doing something different.

If I dry it straight, there is masses of volume (I've never had so much hair!) and it's shiny. With the diffuser it's still so much quicker and there is lots of curl.

I had a GHD for 10 years. Recently bought a Parlux. It just doesn’t feel as substantial and tough as my GHD.

The GHD feels like a solid piece of kit. The Oarlux doesn’t. And yes an expensive hairdryer is worth it. I’ve got ultra thick hair that takes ages to dry. Expensive ones dry it much much faster.

Agree. I've had my Babyliss about 15yrs, still going strong.

I'm on my second Parlux. First one lasted 18 years. I have really long, thick hair and nothing else seems to dry my hair as quickly.

I've tried others but nothing has convinced me yet that there's a better option.

Which parlux model did you buy? I'd like to get the same results. TIA

Parlux is great. They're big and noisy but get the job done. Anything else feels feeble in comparison.

FairisleFairy · 14/01/2024 17:49

I’ve had my Parlux for about 10 years and when it needs replacing I’ll be getting another Parlux.

HundredMilesAnHour · 14/01/2024 18:05

I have a Parlux 3500 supercompact as my travel hairdryer (bit heavy so not great for flying but good for UK travel) and I love it! My 'at home' one is actually a Diva which is also excellent - it's been going for a decade so far. Not a fan of GHD. I have a Dyson but prefer the Parlux and the Diva. My hairdresser (British hairdresser of the year multiple times) uses Parlux.

Chickenlicken15 · 14/01/2024 18:15

I have a Parlux lite and really recommend it . I’ve had it for at least 10 years and still going strong- I have thick hair and it dries it quickly without blasting it to death -I even take it on holiday with me now !

IHeartKingThistle · 14/01/2024 18:21

I love my Parlux - saves me loads of time

App13 · 14/01/2024 18:23

I have a label M 3000w and then was amazing for 20 years but went to parlux now and it's decent but I miss label m
