Shortening trousers help!

Not sure where to post this but it's clothing related so I thought here but feel free to repost elsewhere if it's in the wrong place!

I just bought a pair of lovely pleated trousers. They are the exact style, colour and fabric that I want and were also on sale, except they are a tad too long and drag on the floor unless I wear heels. I have only adjusted the hem where it was relatively straight-forward but unsure about these. The hem is cuffed. For those of you who sew, how challenging would it be to shorten these or should I just take them to a seamstress (which would cost more on top of the already quite expensive initial outlay). Or should I just return them? Any advice is welcome!

Really tricky when they are cuffed.

I usually just turn over the hem once using the width of the hem as my guidance

Try turning that cuff over and see how it looks?

If you really like them, then I'd say it's worth getting them done professionally. It makes such a difference to have trousers in particular tailored. You have something that's just right for you, and won't lie unworn in the wardrobe.

There is a lot of stitching on the hem and it all looks very delicate. I think you may be right that I would need to go to a professional to get this done. Hmm one to think about

can you sew?

this youtube channel is fab for learning how to alter things: https://www.youtube.com/c/downtowntailoring

if you're not confident with it I'd defo take to a local alterations service

Before you continue to YouTube

Take it to your dry cleaner they generally have alteration services. It’s not a big deal if you know how to sew.
