What make up do you always have on you?

That's it. I bought a make up bag because I liked it and want to know what I need in it for a day.

Actual make-up just lipstick and to be honest I rarely touch that up, once it's gone it's gone (I wear shear nudes). But also an assortment of the following in a small pouch:
Paracetamol
Plasters
Tick remover
Hair bands and clips
Lipbalm
Zovirax cream for if I get a coldsore tingle
Probably more.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 10/01/2024 15:57

Just a lipstick
I don't wear much other than that and concealer

Growlybear83 · 10/01/2024 16:18

I always carry a lipstick, blue mascara, eyebrow pencil, and powder, but this is the only makeup I use, and then only when I'm going out to work or to meet someone.

peachgreen · 10/01/2024 17:03

The Merit Minimalist. I almost hate how great it is. It's so handy. That and a red lipstick for emergencies (meeting/unexpected night out etc), and a tinted lip balm.

Mammyloveswine · 10/01/2024 17:40

Red lipstick

Purplecatshopaholic · 10/01/2024 17:44

Whichever lipstick I am wearing that day, pressed powder, an eyebrow pencil, perfume, and maybe an eye liner if I’m wearing some.

hopeishere · 10/01/2024 17:52

You mean carrying about every day? None apart from a Clinique chubby stick. If I'm going out I might bring a some face powder with me in case I get shiny.

DavinaTheDonkey · 10/01/2024 17:53

Tinted lip balm and hand cream.

Missingmyusername · 10/01/2024 18:07

Lip gloss and powder for blotting purposes! I’ve always had greasy skin.

WhoStoleYourHighHorse · 10/01/2024 18:27

Thanks all for your answers, I guess I am permanently on that journey to be a more soignée woman and it doesn't come naturally!
@Sphynxcatenthusiast - tell me, why do you carry around an empty make up bag, seems like a lot of effort for someone who doesn't want to put anything in it 🤔

Concealer, powder, mascara

Inthetropics · 11/01/2024 06:12

@MotherWol

I dont belive the sunscreen I use is available in the UK; I've researched it and Neutrogena doesn't sell it there. It's Neutrogena Sun Fresh Derm Care for oily skin. I've also used Isdin Fusion Water Color and really liked it.

Currently using YSL Rouge Volupte Shine and Clinique's Almost Lipstick. I'd definitely recommend Almost Lipstick.

MotherWol · 11/01/2024 11:19

@Inthetropics thanks! I've used and liked Almost Lipstick before, have been looking for anything that's as good as Black Honey but haven't found it, so I think I'll treat myself to a replacement!

I don't wear makeup every day, but I am today. In my makeup bag is:

  • Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser (love this)
  • Bobbi Brown pot rouge in powder pink (a really nice natural rose on me) and a travel size BB brush
  • an ancient Boots eyebrow pencil
  • natural collection mascara
  • two Burts Bees lipbalms, one plain and one tinted (meh)

On the whole I like a minimal, natural look, and I can usually do this in five minutes or less.

EverybodysALebowski · 11/01/2024 15:32

eyebrow pencil
lip liner
2 lipsticks - 1 everyday, 1 evening
powder compact with mirror
fragrance mini/tester
comb
nail file
glasses cleaner wipes
retractable powder brush
interdental thingies
pill case
hand cream
lip balm
mini solar oil (nail & cuticle oil) pen
mini concealer

Sounds like a lot but I like being prepared. And it's all small sizes so fits into a reasonably sized makeup bag.

NotFastButFurious · 11/01/2024 15:34

None!
I don't wear make up so it baffles me why friends so often buy me make up bags..... perhaps it's a hint......

DuchessOfSausage · 11/01/2024 15:43

@NotFastButFurious , I wear some make up most of the time, but if I put on a tiny amount more than usual someone will say something like 'You should wear make-up more often, it suits you'.
It's probably meant as a compliment but it makes me feel like I either normally look rubbish or I've overdone it.

I went through a phase of getting lots of washbags and make-up bags as presents. Then it was hand towels.

NotFastButFurious · 11/01/2024 15:48

oh hand towels would be more useful @DuchessOfSausage ! I have neither the time nor inclination to faff about painting my face 😁

DuchessOfSausage · 11/01/2024 15:57

Yes they're useful but you can have too many.

They are in the 'generic gift for a woman' category along with handcream and handwash sets and scented candles.

gano · 11/01/2024 16:07

Mascara, blush stick, tinted lip balm, clear brow gel, perfume, mini hand cream and tweezers.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 11/01/2024 16:11

I rarely bring my makeup bag out with me through the day, I would always have a lipstick & gloss in my handbag. If I was going somewhere that I thought I might to touch up my makeup then I'd bring my concealer & brush and some blusher) otherwise I'd bring my entire makeup bag. Generally though my makeup lasts all day or I don't really care enough to touch up

IndianSummer78 · 11/01/2024 16:20

I quite like makeup. I wear foundation and blusher, highlighter if I remember. Eyelid primer, eyeshadow, mascara, plus false lashes if I feel I need it (depending on outfit and hairstyle my eyes can look too small), lipgloss/lipstick, powder to set the shiny T-zone with. I don't carry all that around with me though, my makeup bag stays on my dresser. In my handbag is handcream, face powder and lip balm.

Comefromaway · 11/01/2024 16:23

A lipstick, a mini hand cream, a few plasters, couple of tampons & pads and a strip of paracetamol.
