Stinging eye cream

I've recently started using an eye cream (should have started a long time ago!). I'm using a sample Estee Lauder cream for now.

When I put the cream on it stings under my eyes for a few minutes. When I googled this there's a full range of results from 'this is normal' to 'this is not normal'!

So, should my eye cream sting, or do I need to try a different product?

which one is it? I got one in last years M and S calander and it was one of the few things I've ever thrown out. It was really painful I think ot was a Prai product

Not normal or good. I struggle with eye creams irritating me but am recently trying Manuka doctor eye cream and it has been lovely. My eyelids are not irritated or itchy and they feel softer too.

I don't think that's normal and wouldn't continue using an eye cream that stings.

Thanks all, that was my gut feeling too. I do have 'problem' skin so not particularly surprising that I reacted. I'll ditch it.

It was 'Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye' @listsandbudgets - now in the bin!

I think the company will offer an exchange if you return it and explain.

I had a Prai one that was super painful and I wasn't prepared to use that.

I've now got an ESPA one that is a bit stingy but nowhere near as bad as the Prai one, and it didn't make it go read or anything.

Thanks - great suggestion. In this instance it was a freebee from a 'gift with purchase' so nothing lost.

I get stingy eyes from creams and some lovely (and expensive!) ones have ended up in the bin! I'm currently using the Boots Ingredients range - caffeine in the morning, retinol at night. They're really good and inexpensive so you can mix and match to your needs.
