Sheer hair colour?

Is there such a thing as a tinted hair colour that just shifts the tone of the hair, rather than giving it a solid colour?

I have dark blonde hair with greying streaks and I like the contrast, but would like to warm up the tone. I'd rather not do a solid colour with highlights, but want just a sheer tint. Does that even exist?

I use glaze. You can get a clear one.

It definitely exists. My hair was a mid warm brown but became increasingly grey. I (or rather my hairdresser) used to cover it with solid colour. Pre-pandemic I was getting ready to go with the grey and my hairdresser was using increasingly transparent colour to try and avoid a harsh line. Of course the pandemic changed everything and I just went cold turkey and am now completely grey (and love it), but transparent colour definitely exists.

Try Wella Illumina with the pastel developer. This gives a nice translucent colour. You can buy on Amazon.

If your hair is light enough, could your hairdresser use a warm toner?

That might work. How often do you use it?

Had a quick Google. That feels a bit intimidating. I'd be sure to mix it incorrectly and cock it up.
