Anyone had theirs done recently.
I've been toying with getting it done for ages...

Oh me too, but I’d look haggard with or without them , I’ll thank my baby for that!

Scutterbug · 06/01/2024 22:13

I Am 49 and got mine done about 3 years ago along with my daughters. I love it! No regrets at all. I had mine done with a needle, it bloody hurts but is over dead quick and wasn’t painful after. Healed really easily.

NotmySundaybest · 07/01/2024 08:00

Didn't get it done guys.... to be fair something came up so couldn't make it.

Leaves me in same situation if still wanting it done!

I've had my nose pierced recently 6 months ago and it is still not healed so it does vary. It's almost there and I think it will take another month to fully heal up. I did my own with a gun and husband waited and got his done by a professional piercer.

Don't go to Claire's or a beauty salon that pierces with a gun. Why?
Hygiene of the piercing tool. Even though they change cartridge holding jewellery, you can still get traces of others pathogens and I wouldn't risk it. The people at Claire's are handling money and everything else shove on gloves with unclean hands and then start going at your nose. No thanks

Going to a professional piercer with proper equipment and sterilised environment means autoclave is use, they wash hands/alcohol geland then use gloves etc

The jewellery they use in guns does not pierce as well as needles that piercers use. guns don't give a clean pierce as the arrow point end of the jewellery is not as sharp as needle. Taking longer to heal and a rougher pierce site.

Guns use sharp ended jewellery to pierce and stay in the nose and this can be uncomfortable and the post that goes through nose can end up too long after initial swelling. This can rub and irritate while healing prolonging healing things!

Husband's is healing extremely well after 8 weeks and 6 months later I'm still here getting little mini lumps around my nose jewellery.

I'm in my 40s and a few friends and work colleagues have got in done recently. Everyone's has healed well who got it done with needle.

Had mine since I was 16 so 20 years now! I love it never regretted it ever. I always have a small diamond or gold stud in. If I have to take it out or it comes out my face looks so weird. Honestly if you don’t like it, you can just take it out.

make sure it’s done with a needle initially I had it done with a gun and no end of issues, then let it heal and had it redone with a needle and never had an issue

Hopeandmoss · 07/01/2024 09:33

Had my done last year with a needle - hurt for 30 seconds then no problem since. I went for a flat back stud with a screw on ball so it doesn’t irritate your nose. Have had the initial plain ball replaced with a sparkly one and love it!

barkymcbark · 07/01/2024 09:37

Did you get it done @NotmySundaybest

I’d love to get mine done but scared I look too old now (37)

Im 51 and had mine done last year 😂. I have had it pierced 5 times since i was 13..but let it heal..this was before they put a ring in..was always a stud. Its easier with a ring..studs if u band them..made nose bleed like mad

Zonder · 07/01/2024 09:43

I've had mine 30 years. It was the easiest piercing, even though I had it done with a gun. I've never had any problem with it and it healed really fast. It didn't hurt but did make me wince, I remember.

thedefinitive · 07/01/2024 09:59

Ive had mine done for almost a year. I have a ring in now and love it! (I'm 40).

I'd also had multiple piercings over the years but for some reason was irrationally scared of my nose.

Anyway it was fine, my eyes watered like crazy but like with all piercings, it's a split second of discomfort. Definitely go for it!

JamSandle · 07/01/2024 10:06

Do it. I love mine. Mine did take quite a long time to deal but so did my upper ears so might just be my healing process. I love it so much.

JamSandle · 07/01/2024 10:07

*heal

Mabelface · 07/01/2024 10:26

Had mine done for my 50th birthday. Done with a needle, pinched for a moment then pain gone. I love it.

LyricalGangsta · 07/01/2024 11:04

I had mine done at 15, changed it to the smallest hoop that would fit and it's been there ever since. I don't even notice it anymore. I'm 40. I don't plan on taking it out. It's just normal to me like part of my face.

Craftycorvid · 07/01/2024 22:09

I love mine. Got it done in 2018. I’d feel odd without it now! I’m in my 50s.

NotmySundaybest · 11/03/2024 16:35

I got it done today!
Something came up after my last post then I got a sticking cold!
Anyways I got it done!

Happy to advise anyone if thinking about it!

I had mine done as a teen . Eventually I took it out when I had a runny nose and lost my nose ring and it closed up. I quite miss it to be honest.

You've got me thinking should I get it done again .

NotmySundaybest · 11/03/2024 16:43

It was surprisingly easy. I didn't cry either!

Gibs0nGirl · 11/03/2024 18:55

Yay! Do you love it?

trakehner · 11/03/2024 19:18

Well done OP! I hope you love it! I had mine done as a 50th birthday present to myself a couple of months ago. It's healed brilliantly and I can't even imagine myself without it now. Looking forward to taking the next step of swapping to a little hoop soon. I've wanted it done since I was about 15 but was always too worried about what everyone my parents would say. Pathetic I know, took me 35 years to realise I didn't care anymore and after all that I don't think my dad has even noticed 😂.

HoppyHat · 11/03/2024 19:43

I got mine done after I'd finished cancer treatment! I just thought what the hell, get it done stop procrastinating 😆

Unfortunately it didn't heal brilliantly and then along with a stinking cold it went really yuk so I had to take it out.
Might get it redone.

NotmySundaybest · 12/03/2024 10:06

Do it!!
Can't believe I left it so long to get done.

Once your piercing has healed I would recommend looking at the nose studs on Solace website. Lots of choice and skin kind. I like the nose stud screw option best as it feels the most secure.
