Tinted moisturiser/BB/CC cream?

I'm looking for a product that I can just slap on to even out my skin on days where I don't want to do 'proper' foundation. Ideally something that doesn't require colour-matching. From looking online maybe I need a BB or CC cream but have no idea where to start. Suggestions or recommendations? Thanks!

I use garnier bb too- medium- it's very affordable and my H always says 'you look well' when I slap it on!! At 62- that's good enough for me

Origins Ginzing is a great tinted moisturiser, with a high SPF. I use it on weekends.

Erborian CC creme here too - it’s my favourite having tried quite a few

I’ve also tried

Nivea BB (not bad for a cheapy)
Garnier BB (too orange for me)
NARS tinted moisturiser (good for a little more coverage than most of these, also a bit more matte, and a really great shade range. But no SPF)
La Roche Posay Effaclar tinted moisturiser (good for problem skin, nice sheen, but again no SPF)

Laura Mercier tinted moisturisers seem good too but have only tried in store. Confusing range!

The Trinny one is lovely and nicer than the no7 one

Another vote for Erborian, I genuinely love using it. Used the Garnier one for years previously which is good and not expensive.

How did you find the right Eborian shade - is it trial and error, or can you buy samples?

KevinDeBrioche · 06/01/2024 06:23

I like erborian, ilia skin tint and the origins ginzing one.

I also use Erborian. A word of warning. I must have bought it after reading recommendations here but I initially hated it. I felt it had a smell to it and found it awkward to apply. I am so glad I persevered because I have been using it for over a year now and I love it. A tube has last me over a year and I reckon there's still a month left in it, and I use it daily.

I use CC Doree which might be too dark/orangey for a lot of people. I like adding a glow of colour to my face so I am happy. You have to experiment with it though. This cream looks white on your fingers but colour develops as you spread it across your face.

Erborian BB here too- bear in mind it's a Korean BB so no comparison to western BBs which are pretty much tinted moisturisers. Erborian BB is a mid coverage consistency. The Erborian CCs are much more like a western tinted moisturiser, so if it's a light coverage you want them a CC might be better.

Remember BB was originally to hide blemishes, so thicker, whereas CC was to subtly correct redness, shallowness etc.

If you have a space NK anywhere near you they stock it so you can try there

@Longlist I bought a couple off eBay after looking at the shades on Erborian website. It was money well spent as it saved me making a costly mistake.

Breaking the trend to say no 7 tinted moisturizer. I need something without SPF in the winter. Gotta max that vitamin D!

learieonthewildmoor · 06/01/2024 12:54

Clinique tinted moisturiser. They call it Sheertint Hydrator. Clinique have a bad habit of replacing products with something completely different so I’m always nervous when I run out.

Another one voting for Erborian. I bought in travel sizes first which are about £15 but last ages and ages. I use the cc in clair which is the white one for day to day use. It just makes me look a bit more ‘done’ but I don’t look like I have make up on. I have a travel super bb and I am liking that at the moment. The colour makes me look less winter white.

Agree with PP, Garnier is too orange. I used it for a long time but the packaging changed and I don't know if the formula changed too. Or maybe it was always too orange and I didn't notice Blush They don't have enough shades to choose from IMO.

Have just got a Bare Minerals one which I like so far - might try Erborian next though, based on all the recommendations!
