Eyebrow waxing when on Tretinoin...Pic

So, completely my own fault!
Been using Tretinoin via "Skin and Me" for a few months. The dose has been increasing monthly.

Been getting my brows waxed and tinted at the same salon for around a year now...no issues. The last 2/3 times I've been for a wax, I've had additional redness and a minor burn or two. I immediately clicked and realised it'll be the Tretinoin. It wasn't a huge issue at the time, as although a little sore; it healed quickly.

Went to get my eyebrows waxed today and I did mean to mention the Tret but got talking and forgot. Anyway...(results in the pic below).
It's very sore, even to lightly press a cold flannel against or to apply cream. However I have smothered in Germaline.

I do realise it'll heal in time. My question...how do those of you on Tretinoin maintain your brows? Not sure I can get them waxed again!

I did this when waxing my moustache. Since that occassion, I put talc on the area first, and make sure to pull the wax strip off quickly. It's worked...the talc stops the wax sticking to the skin.

I had this with tret but my eyebrow lady now uses a different wax for me - the one that’s usually for bikini I think (she calls it “intimate waxing wax”) and never had any issues since. It kind of peels off itself rather than with a strip and is pink. She moved to a different salon about six months ago which is much less convenient but rather that than the alternative.

OP I put Sudocrem on mine and it healed very quickly.

I use retinol but also like to have some treatments which are incompatible! What I do now is stop my retinol on the 1st of every month for a week & do everything I want to do at the end of that week. Makes it easier to remember how long I've stopped for!

@ThankGoditsChristmas
This happened to me last night!! Am off on holiday today and I look exactly like your photos 😫
Going with a large group of people...never even knew you couldn't get waxed when using tret and the beautician didn't ask...was my first time waxing.
How long did it take to go down and any tips to get it down quickly??

@2anddone when it happened to DD it took at least 3 days to not look as sore and that was with her religiously applying aloe gel to the burns. That really helped the healing although did give the skin a slightly greenish tint. Anything better than the redness though right?

Your brow technician should have checked with you if you’ve never used her before. Any product that thins or drys the skin, making more sensitive, is a contraindication for waxing as the wax takes off more layers than it would do usually.

@Rollergirl11 I am so cross with her I told her it was my first time having my eyebrows waxed and she didn't ask any questions. At the end she said they look a bit red but will go down in a couple of hours! I am putting aloe Vera on constantly hoping it goes...it's massively noticeable I might have to use some concealer to try to cover it
