LED masks for eyes. Safe?

Hi,

So I'm desperate to find something to help with my undereyes, which seek to have aged so much over the past year.

One undereye is worse than the other, but they are both dark, with a mixture of hollows and bags...... 😒 I've now noticed some creepiness too.

I actually think I've inadvertently made the problem worse, by using ice, which I thought was supposed to be good for waking the eyes up, de puffing etc, but now I'm reading ice is probably quite damaging for this area, as the skin is so thin and delicate.

Anyway, I've started using the Foreo Bear for general sagging ☹️ but I'm probably more paranoid about my undereyes. I was tempted to get an LED face mask, but I'm concerned about potential damage to the eyes. I know you can wear goggles, but wouldn't that also cover the area I want to treat?..

I know you can buy LED masks specifically for the eye area, which are obviously cheaper 👍 but again, how would that work with the goggles?

Any advice or recommendations would be hugely appreciated 😊

TIA

My mask is full face but I'd imagine it works in the same way? Holes for the eyes with rubber boundaries on the inside ?

I bought a LED eye one by some US celebrity doctor (name escapes me) approved by the FDF or something when on offer at Harrods. I thought it sounded the safest bet for eye safety. However I stopped using it because (1) it gave me a rash at side of my eyes and (2) it didn't cover the under eye area - just between brows and side of eyes.
I have still not found anything that reduced my dark under eye circles as well as the old cheapie Boots supplied Neutrogena face mask which was withdrawn years ago.

. and the neutrogena one was a face mask with eye holes so no direct LED on under eye but still worked

The gross eye mask? I’ve considered that…I don’t know either, I’ve never found much that’s improved the under eye. Good moisturising eye base and good eye concealer is what I am doing.

Yes Dennis Gross eye mask. Not impressed.

Oh, well this is disappointing. These masks were sounding like the holy grail!

I can't believe how much my undereyes bother me. I have some lines here and there, thinning hair etc, but this really does get me down.

Colour correctors just don't seem to well..correct and concealers just seem to make it worse. Under eye patches help slightly but not for very long.

For a quick fix I don't use ice directly. I add a little water to an ice cube in a glass, soak a cotton pad which I've cut in half in the cold water and apply this under each eye. I re-dip the pads several times. I then apply Clarins Total eye lift. I also use snail mucus eye pads every week. This helps reduce the puffiness and hydrates the eye area, so the skin looks better but the dark circles are another matter entirely.

I know fixate on this and the crows feet too - have you been into one of the space nk/beauty depts to get specific advice on base/concealers?
worth a try.
