I have terrible under eye dark circles that just seem worse at the moment. Does anyone have any good ideas/tips on treating this problem or on how to hide them? any magical concealers that won't look caked on and that actually work?? Please somebody out there help I'm desperate !! as well as being melodramatic!

I have panda bags too....I use a MAC concealer first...then I use Boots no7 version of YSL Touch eclait, its £10 instead of £20 something and just as good.

I also make sure I dot some concealer at the outer corners of my eye, as well as the grey shadows on the bit where the inner corner of my eye meets my nose. does that make sense?

I think wearing blusher brightens my face and detracts from said shadows. i used to obsess about covering mine up all the time and made the problem worse...I think less is more.(altho you wouldn't know by the poncey process I just described!)

Thanks for the tips will definitely try - I can't believe that we're the only ones with this problem Maid! I like you like to wear blusher but don't normally wear foundation as it always sits in the fine lines around my eyes. Do you know what causes the dark circles?

I also have sark circles, don't worry you're not alone!

Mine tend to get worse if I've not had enough water to drink, so thats worht a try too

Olivebranch · 17/03/2008 21:38

Thanks Quint I'll give that a go - I don't drink enough water anyway so I think its time I started!

Dark circles are hereditary, show tiredness and dehydration...I don't stand a chance! If you use a more hydrating foundation and don't powder around your eyes it shouldn't settle into the crepey bits so much. Someone thought I had a black eye once...that made me feel great.

I also think as we age our faces become more drawn and less plump which highlights the sockets and accentuates shadows.

I have started using a Sanctuary eye product and under my eyes don't seem as dark. Can find what it is called ifinterested.

I also put concealer underneath (good old hide the blemish) and on the side of my nose, it really makes a difference.

Some people suggest using heamarrhoid (sp) cream under the eyes to reduce darkness, no idea if it works. I second plenty of water and cut back on caffiene. I use touche eclat too, get dh to buy it on business trips as it is much cheaper.

Dropdeadfred · 18/03/2008 12:57

the pile cream is for bags not darkness..works by drying out the area...

boing concealer by benefit is great.

Olivebranch · 18/03/2008 21:15

Can't you just see it at the Boots counter asking for haemorrhoid cream ... bad piles dear no just the bags under my eyes!!
