Skin treatment LED or permanent make up

For the last three years in January l have given myself like a treat to help me feel better. Last year (23) it was silk pillow cases, new foundation and l got some vitamins that made me feel better. The year before (22) l started getting my hair and nails done. The year before that (21) was a Fitbit and exercising.

This year l can’t decide if l want a led light therapy machine/wand or to get permanent lip shade and my eyebrows done. I don’t want filler just colour.

l can’t decide, so if you have experience could you share it with me. Thanks

Go on a meditation course instead - much more worth while if you're in need of feeling better on the inside. Silk pillow cases and permanent make up are nothing in comparison to feeling truly content!

Also, probably worth chilling on how you look in terms of the permanent make up... one day you'll be old, grey and wrinkley and no amount of make up (whether it be permanent or not) will uplift you like a good mental state would.

Just my opinion, sorry to be so controversial and potentially totally useless - I understand if the other options you listed are things you've been longing for! Just thought I'd throw an alternative view out there 😉

I'd get the lip shade and eyebrows done. You can always get light therapy sessions another time without buying one. Im not sure about light therapy. I'm not convinced the brightness won't harm our eyesight in the long run. It's very harsh

I don’t think l need medication course, l am 47 going through menopause and just feel that working full time in a stressful job and having two children is sometimes a lot.

l think the things l have changed over the years have helped me feel better and are just small things that make me feel better. The Fitbit and exercising helps me feel less stressed, getting my hair and nails done helps me feel more put together after years of home dyes and only getting my hair cut every six months (l can afford this now as my childcare costs have come down) the silk pillowcase and my vitamins help with my sleep and my well being.

The permanent lips/eyes would maybe make be feel more together and l think the light treatment would probably make me have 10 minutes to myself a day which would calm my mind. I understand l am going to age and if you knew me you would know l am not massively into looks but after years of putting other things and people before me, l now in a position to treat myself to things that l couldn’t before.

Oops sorry @inquisitiveinga you put meditation course not medication course. Sorry l just had a doctor tell me l was depressed not going through the menopause, he was insistent and l know l am not depressed. I had to see another doctor and l am a little touchy about it.

But l will say you aren’t far wrong last year l done something different each month so l had a float, some mad massage l can’t think of the name, a pole dancing course (4 weeks)and a yoga course (4 weeks) and a fencing course (6 weeks) and l did think the calming activities where good.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

As a beauty therapist I'd be very wary of the SPMU. It often looks great at first but doesn't always age well.
The LED masks are good but only if you get a good one. The cheap ones are nothing except a coloured light & won't penetrate to the dermis. I love mine. I use it listening to a podcast & pretend I'm on holiday. Totally understand the desire to invest in yourself. Skin care is self care!

Well, I was going to say that a friend of mine had eyeliner and lips done last year and looks great. Natural, understated and fresh, but I guess @SheRa knows more than I do!

The reason l considered the make up is a woman l know in work has it and it looks good she has had it for two years and she always looks fresh, l hate having to do my put make up on so only do it if it’s needed. I want it to look natural. I think l am going to research the light mask properly as well.

Simply on the basis of what both options offer I'd go for the LED mask. And as a PP says you need a good one with red and near infrared lights.

But... you have to use it consistently. Would you really make the time to use it a few days every week or would it sit in a drawer with your good intentions to keep it company? The semi perm is an hour or so in a salon and then it's done.
