How to put this earring in (conch)

So I have a clicker, no problems I can remove and replace without help.
But I bought a really pretty stud today and it's really tricky so after my ear turned red I have up.
The top comes off but it's like a hollow point fixing and the stud has a point that goes in it. So I can put the back on leaving this point showing but can't get the stud on.

Its not one where you screw the stud to the solid back

It’s a pressure stud - squeeze the two bits together in your ear and it’ll click together.

The spike on the back pushes into the hollow pin.

Good luck :)

Does it have a thread? Some labrets need screwing in

Can you push it together outside of your ear? I think @MaitlandGirl is absolutely correct and you just push it.

I'm not sure where a conch is but I have a lot of parts of my ears pierced and some of them are an absolute nightmare to get on and out. The middle bit of my ear I just pop a new front on it as I darent take the back out. The bit above that which joins my head I've never been able to change 😭

I tried to screw it outside the ear but that didn't work. I've managed (thank you @MaitlandGirl) to push the two together - it feels a little loose but I'm trying not to touch it.

I always have either clickers or the balls you screw on

They're usually put in by piercers by being threaded onto something coming through from the front first, pulled through and then the front is clicked on.

I don't like them because the ends are too sharp and blunt, so cause microtrauma to the fistula at the back, especially if it's formed over something much thinner like a clicker ring, and because there's no leeway for swelling or an easy way to remove them without putting further pressure on the swollen area.

If it starts feeling tight or hot, OP, it's better to take it out straight away than to wait until the swelling worsens.

Yes I don't love it. Luckily the piercing is about four years old, I'm going to be alert to any change. Currently is a bit red but no pain.
