Hey all, 54 but prob look 64! I've never really bothered with a skin care regime or make up. Wish I had!
Anyway, I'm going on a cruise, there's a dress up night. I'm naturally a red complexion and don't really want to wear foundation,it's bad enough here, sits in my wrinkles makes me feel like . Any recommendations for a light tanning bronzer stuff? Would like to feel a little bit glam for a night.

I have recently discovered Bare Minerals Prime Time redness-reducing primer, which has made a difference. Doesn't look much different immediately, but definitely tones things down once all make up has been applied.
Then on top, Complexion Rescue tinted moisturiser also by Bare Minerals. It's lighter than foundation, but covers well as hasn’t disappeared into lines.
I used to wear powder, but it looks fresher now when I don't, as powder makes it look cakey. I'm 51.
(I avoid bronzer but that’s because my previous foundation was a shade out and didn’t suit.)

I don't do fake tan so can't help with that.

Can recommend Clarins SOS primer. They do an anti redness one. I've got an anti tiredness one, a pea sized blob spread over my face and I look like me just a little better. Doesn't sit in my lines at all.

Then on top L'Oréal True Match Serum Foundation. It's medium coverage but feels just like a serum and doesn't sit in my lines either. It lets your natural skin shine through and I find there's no real need for blusher or anything. Gives a dewy look.

Mascara and lip balm make me look polished. Not picky about which mascara. Don't know if they still sell it but I've got an old Boots No.7 lip gloss in a tube with SPF 15 in it. It's very subtle, not like lipstick.

As you'll be on holiday in the sun I'd use a basic day cream with SPF in the morning. Simple make a nice one with SPF 30, comes in a small tube, orange and white packet, inexpensive and lasts ages. Put it on underneath the primer.

For night a cleansing balm is nice to take makeup off with, followed by a night cream, I use Olay basic one, it's cheap. Nivea Soft moisturizer is also good, cheap too and can be used as a body cream.

Enjoy your holiday OP.
