Just that really - is it appropriate?

Sure, it’s a bit like a bathrobe, and you might have probs holding the split together when you sit, but sure, why not

Ardith · 08/12/2023 21:37

Depends on your job.

Law firm = definitely not
Fashion company = it’s fine.

It does look a lot like a hospital gown though, to me the model looks like she’s about to have surgery.

SylvieLaufeydottir · 08/12/2023 21:37

I think you'd get away with it in most smart-casual offices, although like PP I'd be concerned about what would happen when you sat down at your desk.

Obviously it is not a goer in more formal offices.

Probably fine in most law firms. It's not short and the split is not revealing. If anything it's pretty boring.

Yep...agree with this

Startingagainandagain · 08/12/2023 22:12

Why would you want to wear this though? it looks really unflattering even on a model with a great figure. A cheap hospital gown...

Gensola · 08/12/2023 22:13

It looks like a hospital gown?

As long as the split doesn't gape too much there's no reason why that can't be worn in a legal office. I quite like it.

The split is probably exaggerated on the website.

ChristmasPuddy · 08/12/2023 23:10

Yes I’d say it was appropriate, but I do think there are nicer dresses out there!

foreverbasil · 08/12/2023 23:20

Surely it's going to show even the slightest sweat patch

Thisisthedawningoftheageofaquarius · 08/12/2023 23:24

Yes fine in any office I’ve been in

RiceRiceBaby16 · 08/12/2023 23:24

Looks fine but I don't see anything nice about it!

MrsSkylerWhite · 08/12/2023 23:25

Looks like what my granny wore in the house. Tabard, I think it was called.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/12/2023 23:32

I think it would be a crumpled mess within minutes.

Wherearemykeysagain · 08/12/2023 23:35

100% hospital gown

Once she starts moving it’s going to be quite revealing.

Also it looks like she got lost on the way to the operating theatre

Purplecatshopaholic · 08/12/2023 23:40

Yes, it’s fine for my office anyway. I’d wear it.

forgivingfiggy · 08/12/2023 23:51

Yes. I like it. It reminds me of the Dior stuff Tilda Swindon's character wears in A Bigger Splash.

StarlightLady · 09/12/2023 05:27

Yes, it’s certainly appropriate.

And congrats and thank you for thinking and mentioning summer 🌞.

With regard to the comments on law firms up thread, there’s “off duty” law firm style and “on duty” law firm style!

fulawitt · 09/12/2023 06:08

If you have a natural waist it is not flattering enough. The mannequin is tall so it will be quite low on the leg but beware of your body shape there might not be enough fabric there for your thighs and you might end up with an outrageous split. I would not try. The cut lacks finesse.

LucyInTheParkWithDragons · 09/12/2023 06:59

I work in investment management law (so two traditional industries) and that would be totally fine.

I never really see women in suits anymore. Jackets yes, but over nice dresses rather than formal and matching, and usually because it’s chilly not because it’s needed!
