Botox increasing eye lid wrinkles

That attached picture is not me! But an example of what I mean. I’ve noticed that since having Botox (quite sporadically, low dose, good doctor) I’ve developed more wrinkles above my eye just under the eyebrow.

I’m going to be honest I think these look worse than the odd line on the forehead! As they are right by the eyes. I’m guessing it’s because I can’t frown as much so have recruited different muscles? Botox will wear off in a month or so but not sure if these new wrinkles will be permanent.

Has this happened to anyone else? I noticed it on my friend last night too.
I know the answer is no more Botox sigh.

Looking at the photo it’s supposed to show the woman looking better with a smooth forehead after Botox but she looks worse as the wrinkles have just moved! See also the bunny lines.

Yes you are right. It's a balance and everyone's face is different. I can't have too much around my eyes as my under eyes wrinkle up. I have smaller doses to balance the movement.

The great thing is that it's reversible. I have a break between treatments to rest those muscles. Also as we get older the frozen upper section of the face versus the aged lower face starts looking obvious too.

Thanks. Yes very true about the mismatch between upper and lower face.

Yes I will lay off it. Gonna investigate radio frequency to see if that can tighten!

I’ve never had it, but I’ve noticed this on a friend that’s recently jumped on the Botox and filler train.

I was considering it myself, but it’s kind of put me off.

Interesting. I agree those under the eyebrow lines look worse than the forehead ones, partly I think because they are just so odd, nobody gets that kind of wrinkling naturally!

Onelifeonly · 08/12/2023 10:14

Not that I have considered it, but that would definitely put me off!

I have deep frown lines but after cringing about them for several years, I've found I've stopped caring and they are no longer the first thing I see when I look in the mirtor or at a photo of myself.

Delatron · 08/12/2023 10:45

Yes it is interesting. I’m really hoping they wear off as the Botox does.

Agree they look odd and noticeable versus forehead wrinkles which are natural.

I'm having a face lift, mini or full not sure yet but botox just seems to create other problems or emphasize other areas looking older, the smooth forehead with jowls is jarring and obvious.

earthfindwire · 08/12/2023 10:52

Yes I notice it on celebrities- the creases on the nose and above or below the eyes when they smile. I suppose other bits of your face move because one part can’t? Also sometimes you can see lines above the eyebrows but not in the middle of the forehead.

Shaggalicious · 08/12/2023 10:54

The nose scrunch thing is bunny lines I think

Delatron · 08/12/2023 10:58

Facelift may be the way forward for the future. Also have random vertical line on forehand now that wasn’t there before.

Probably a lesson that wrinkles in places they are supposed to be (like crows feet and forehead) look better than in places they are not supposed to be!

I had been having 3 areas of Botox for about 5 years, 11's, a bit on forehead and laughter lines. I stopped on the forehead as it was giving me more of a hooded eye and overall I have not had anything for the last 8 months. I still don't have the 11's as I think I have forgotten how to frown that way.
At the moment I don't feel the need to have any Botox but I may look into filler a bit more.
