Why not ask the girls on the counter for a couple of samples? I am a clinique fan but I don't wear foundation so I can't help there but whenever I have wanted to try something new they have always been very helpful.

do they charge for samples?
those girls always look a bit scary to me lol
probably why i have always thrown a rimmel or maybelline one in my basket as i shop!

what is it about the chanel one ? i have heard people either love it or hate it

I do use some clinique items, but I think the best foundations now are mineral foundations. Sheercover is the one I use.

leoleo · 13/03/2008 17:38

i uses lots of different brands and swear by mac.
I find clinque a bit greasy and the chanel one too heavy.
I did buy a mac compact foundation and didn't like that either.
I like the mousse foundation but Lancome and the L'orel perfect match foundation at the moment but subject to change.
I want to try mineral but worried will show up lines.

nailpolish · 13/03/2008 17:41

i wouldnt go near clinque either
try the chanel one

or clarins (i use tinted moistursier from clarins for my mega dry skin)

cariboo · 13/03/2008 17:42

Clinique & Estée Lauder same company, according to dh who used to work in the industry. Clinique clearly aimed at younger clients. I prefer Clinique because everything smells better!

cariboo · 13/03/2008 17:43

Clarins good but super over-priced, IMO.

cariboo · 13/03/2008 17:44

But all their stuff smells like heaven... even better than Clinique

leoleo · 13/03/2008 17:45

a clinque lady told me they were also the same co as mac although i bought a pot of eye liner from both brands and the clinque one was terrible in comparision..

leoleo · 13/03/2008 17:45

I love the new cleanser by clarins - the melt. very good. recommended to anyone

nailpolish · 13/03/2008 17:55

oh ahvent ttried that

at debenhams beside me you get points ofr every time you spend at clarins and you save up the points and get money off at the clarins spa (inside the same debemhans) its great

leoleo · 13/03/2008 17:58

i have a voucher for the spa...

o.k cod you have me convinced. i will go to chanel (if there is one) and get a sample. in fact i will go to them all lol and review.

i seem to remember a lot of people saying clinique superbalanced was great but maybe not for dry skin.

i have just discovered that in fear of looking too ghostly white i have actually been choosing shades too dark for me

hopefully i'll get it right one day

I use Superbalanced and really like it, I've tried a couple of different brands but have always gone back to it.
