My sister said Im lucky as its outside so a warm coat etc will hide what Im wearing underneath. I would like some glitter showing somewhere though. I have no idea wha the weather will be like in Edinburgh. It is a concert outside. I cant wait. Ive tried Uniqlo but im too chunky for their coats.plus, im in London for most of the year so goosedown wont get used.

Another recommendation on focussing on layers to stay warm and dry especially head and hands. Unless you're going on somewhere (and even if you are) keep the sparkles to a scarf and jewellery.

If you're going to the concert in the gardens / street party I wouldn't worry about an "outfit". Focus on being warm and dry! You will be outside for hours in potentially freezing temperatures.

Yes I had a Parker Super Dry but I hated it the hood was so heavy I felt like I was being strangled

I ended up with a coat from Seasalt with £100 off it. It’s very warm but I will know at the weekend, how warm. We are looking to book somewhere for dinner the night before but I don’t think it will be dressy. I’m going to take a water bottle with me. I do have an unused hip
flask but I’m not sure what to put in one as I can’t drink straight spirits.

Ive been listening to Pulp all afternoon. I’m getting excited now.

Us Scots dress nothing like the rest of the UK. We also have fantastic vision to be able to see what you are wearing in the pitch black and pissing wet. 🙄

Why so grouchy? It’s obvious that when I wrote the post I was asking for ideas to keep warm with abit of sparkle added in don’t wee on my parade thanks

Did you enjoy yourself OP?

Yes amazing. I’m still here just debating what to do today. I thought it was well organised and the crowds were fine. I was surprised when it was over that there was nowhere to get a night cap as we met up with friends so we just had to do a quick stop and chat on the street. The walk back was challenging because of the one way system my god my feet are feeling it today.

im shocked at how expensive it is just in general and I live in London. My sister said its because we don’t know where we are going 😀 I bet the rents are high as well. You must all have great legs with the steps etc. I finished chemo six months ago and tbh I think the effects of that are showing in my mobility. I have more to come this year I imagine so I really should focus on my fitness.

Thanks for all your useful tips and have a healthy New Year x

Glad you had a lovely time! If you’re up for a bit more walking Dean Village is nice for a mooch about - it’s not far at all from Princes St
