No, I'm sure your friend wouldn't have problems as she would be buying from suppliers. I was just relating the problems people have in this country if they do want to design and make original children's clothing themselves.

I buy most of ds stuff from Tesco, we've got a really big one near us. He's quite slim so he needs trousers with adjustable waists which most of the tesco stuff is. Their tshirts are also nice and bright.

I often find I have to order online from M&S, Next etc to get the more colourful/non-slogan stuff. My local next stores are full of 'monster t-shirts' and very rarely have the lovely stripey jumpers (I've bought several over the years, wear really well). I can't understand it!

I was also planning the summer wardrobe for ds1 (ds2 will just have handmedowns) for the same reasons as nappyaddict. Yes, I think a 20 month old has a 'wardrobe', what else do they wear?!! I'd prefer to buy a few really nice things that all match than 20 cheapo t-shirts which look awful after two washes and I can't use for ds2. I think next do great basic shorts and trousers, h&m have lovely bright t-shirts. Pumpkin Patch I quite like but this summer is all turquoise which I hate (just personal). Mrs Badger has recommended Jak-o before, they do very bright coloured stuff.I've learnt to buy really nice tops (e.g. boden although their stuff this year is pretty drab) and cheaper trousers/shorts although jeans are a different story. I hate 95% of the jeans I see for boys, I just want nice plain ones that look smartish.
