He is embarrassed about it. He is also developing a bum fluff moustache. What’s the best way for him to safely remove hair?
thanks

Trim the hairs on the mole with scissors and then carefully shave around it? It might help for him to cover the mole with a finger on his non dominant hand and then carefully go around the mole. It will be tricky initially but he will soon get the hang of it. I’m speaking as someone with experience of a tricky mole on my bikini line!

Electric razor? The Braun one that’s first mentioned is on sale in Boots at the minute. There are ones under £40 mentioned if you scroll down.

Why don't you just get the mole removed

It's a simple procedure especially as he hates it so much

atthebottomofthehill · 28/11/2023 02:07

Crack on and get the mole removed and then he'll have his whole life not worrying about it

Nofilteritwonthelp · 28/11/2023 02:10

I'd get the mole removed as PP have said

CurlsnSunshinetime4tea · 28/11/2023 02:11

certainly worth a dermatology consult and potential removal.

Elzibells · 28/11/2023 02:14

Another one here saying remove. Things like this can really affect confidence at this age. Speaking as someone who had similar at this age.

39and · 28/11/2023 03:03

I'd definitely get the mole removed if you can afford to.

SD1978 · 28/11/2023 03:51

If he's self conscious about it- I'm in the remove it camp. If he doesn't care. Then teach him how to trim/ shave around it properly.

Josette77 · 28/11/2023 04:35

Remove the mole. I did.

OrderOfTheKookaburra · 28/11/2023 04:45

Agree with getting the mole removed. It will bother him a lot when he shaves. He will likely end up nicking it often and making it bleed.

Thanks - will talk to a derm. Not sure if they will remove at his age or will want to wait til he’s a bit older but will check

You go along the 'biopsy' route with GP and try and get it removed for free

My GP is allowed to do small ops like this so he he removed my mole on my jawline years ago under the banner or a biopsy.

He just numbed it, cut it out and put in a couple of stitches I was in and out in under an hour

we had a big mole removed at the Skin range of clinics. Wish we’d done it years ago. It cost money but worth every single penny. You could ask him what he thinks and say it wound make shaving easier etc. do it on a school holiday so it has time to heal

Privately they will remove anything. My son had one on his back that used to rub on his clothes. Harley st, couple hundred pounds and done.
