Eyelid blemish

Excuse me for putting this in style and beauty, but I figured I might get more traffic!
I was hoping for some tips on how to get rid of a small, white upper eyelid cyst? I have been to my GP twice, (2 different people), and they have confirmed it's nothing sinister, merely unsightly. I was given some ointment that did nothing.
I have tried:
Warm, (actually fairly hot!), compresses, (I do these nightly).
Gentle massage with unperfumed eye cream
Mag sulph dotted on it and left overnight, (did nothing).
Tried my DDs Acnecide gel, (ouch)
I have even squeezed it gently to no avail.
It's been there for around 7-8 months now and it's starting to get me down. People have started to mention it, in a kind of, 'why don't you do something about that?' way.
I've looked into having it removed privately but can't justify the cost. GP doesn't seem keen to refer me, and indicated that the wait would be really long if he did, as it's 'just cosmetic'.
Any ideas very gratefully received!!

Emla cream and a sharp blade? Although you would risk infection, disfigurement, loss of sight etc etc.
I know you say you can’t justify the cost but so much is no longer available on the NHS, due to cost cutting and changing eligibility criteria, it might be your only option.

I'm so tempted to pop it but I'm terrified of stabbing myself in the eye!!!

I would scrape it gently until I could pop it

Beauty salon? I had something that looked similar to that, but in the crease of my eyelid. I went to my lovely 'skin lady' who said it was just a large-ish milia (whitehead) and she removed it for me straight away. I'd be inclined to get someone like that to at least look at it, l imagine it'd cost you less than having to go private, and at least you know it'd be done by someone who knows what they're doing.

I'd definitely recommend seeing a skin therapist who is qualified in blemish removal. It looks like a milia which can easily be treated with short wave diathermy. Someone who has a level 4 diploma from Sally Durant or similar.

Thank you all - I never thought of trying a salon. Will make some enquiries Smile

Dh had one, just keep using hot wash cloths every day and hold it there for a good while then gently rubbing the surface , it'll take a couple of weeks but it'll come out.

Personally I've done the above and then very gently nicked it with a sterilised needle but obviously not recommending it on the internet.

The secret is to soften it up as it's a hard little pearl.

Cheeesus · 27/11/2023 22:16

I’d put a pin in that, but I’ve done them elsewhere previously.

I'd snip the edge of it with sterilised cuticle snippers and push the white sebum out.
