Blusher for mature woman

Hi there. I am in the market for a blusher. I am 52, skin is not bad but have some enlarged pored and fine lines, nothing major, but obviously don't want to accentuate them either. I have fairly pale skin and use EE double wear in Fresco, which seems a perfect match, and then a darker foundation powder on top to add some colour. I think it looks fairly decent. Anyway, I thought it might be nice to add a blusher at the end, instead of my usual bronzer, and would appreciate recommendations. I am not going to go to a make up counter, so online recommendations please. I want something I can wear every day, no shimmer. It needs to be long lasting as I will not re-apply throughout the day, so I don't mind high (ish) end (EE, Lancome type prices), especially as I can still take advantage of 20% off today! Thank you!!

48 here and I've rediscovered No 7 particularly their cream blusher. Lovely and buildable colour. If you look on the referral threads there are lots of £10 codes

Second the cream recommendation. Lots of brands do it. I had a lovely one from Maybelline, not sure of they still do it though.

itsnothingoriginal · 26/11/2023 09:10

Pat McGrath labs blusher is lovely and stays on my face all day without any need to reapply. It's expensive but you barely need to use any to get a good effect so it does last ages.

Barry M do a nice cream blush in a tube for a fiver

CiaraLiara · 26/11/2023 10:10

Happy to try cream but two questions, are they long lasting and also, won't they drag my foundation when I apply it?

Nars Afterglow liquid blush is lovely, goes beautifully over foundation.
Ilia multi stick is a lovely cream. Both long wearing.

learieonthewildmoor · 26/11/2023 10:43

Trinny London blushes are lovely too.

grayhairdontcare · 26/11/2023 10:44

You need cream blush

DaisyDoor · 26/11/2023 10:44

Stick with powder unless you want all your blusher on your ears.

LizzieSiddal · 26/11/2023 10:45

I use Bobbi Brown cream blusher, it’s called Pot Rouge and it’s fab. I pat it on my cheeks the my fingers, it’s doesn’t affect the foundation.

LizzieSiddal · 26/11/2023 10:47

And yes the Bobbi Brown one is long lasting.

I’ve googled and can’t find a No 7 cream blusher. Do you have a link please?

Squirrelsnut · 26/11/2023 10:51

You could try lipstick as a cream blusher.

Yes they are if they’re pigmented, and to apply you just tap it on your cheek high points, no rubbing/dragging etc.

My favourite is Nudestix

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 26/11/2023 14:03

Here you go Lizzie I use Dusk Pink

www.no7beauty.co.uk/lip-cheek-tint/12754401.html

Definitely check for referral code if buying direct from No7 (different to boots) as I think it gives you a tenner off (maybe a minimum spend)

LizzieSiddal · 26/11/2023 15:46

Thanks @tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz The website has 40% off today if you buy two products! Fab value.

They are long lasting, and no, it won’t drag your foundation, you tap it on.

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 26/11/2023 16:04

I’ve just changed to cream from powder as I felt that now I’m older, powder blush wasn’t doing me any favours. I’ve just bought the Bobbi Brown mentioned above and am very happy with it.

Dandelion by Benefit. Im 55 and have cream ones but prefer this during the winter 🤷

Darklane · 26/11/2023 16:16

Dandelion is lovely & best thing is it’s impossible to overdo it.
I really like the Laura Geller ones too.

Whatineed · 26/11/2023 16:38

I have a cream blusher stick from Milk. I dab it on like a bingo dabber pen on the cheek, and then gently swirl a brush over it up towards the ears. I'm 52 and it gives a natural glow.

lindyloo57 · 26/11/2023 16:50

I have bought 5 cream blushers, and yet to find one that last more than a couple of hours, I've have a stille, a laura geller, Doll 10, so not cheap, some were £20

Beenalongwinter · 26/11/2023 18:54

The cream body shop blushers in tubes are fab.
I also agree with another poster, benefit Dandelion is good for winter .

DoodlesMam · 26/11/2023 19:22

Elf do a nice cream blush. They are in large superdrugs. I also like armani blush but it's a fortune!

CiaraLiara · 27/11/2023 07:30

And the winner is... Dandelion!!
I actually used to use it all the time many many many years ago, but I forgot all about it.
Arriving today.
Cheers all!!
😊
