Which perfume have you gone off ?

I must have liked it once I suppose because I have it but I really don’t like Black Opium anymore .Sickly sweet and overpowering. What perfume can you not get on with ?

Mitsouko. I tried samples many times and loved it, but when I eventually bought a bottle I really wasn’t keen.

My mum used to wear Poison, it didn't agree with her natural skin smell and it still turns my stomach now.

I tried to like Chanel No.5 as apparently we all should, but it just smells so sour and fousty.

I didn't mind CKOne to begin with, but an ex used to drown himself in it in lieu of washing, and now I can't bear it.

My friend at college always wore Chloe Narcisse and it was STINKING. Hated it with a passion and it got so bad I could barely be around her. Think it just didn't agree with her. Or maybe it's just a rancid perfume.

I used to wear La Vie Est Belle, but since having DD1, it just smells really powdery and horrible on me.

Weirdly, I find that Lidl's Femelle dupe for it smells fine, although it doesn't have LVEB's longevity.

I used to buy Jimmy Choo and Flowerbomb but both are so horribly sickly sweet I can't bear them now.

I'm currently on Creed Windflower and am feeling a bit meh about that - I'm about 1/3rd of the way through the bottle, and it seems to dry down very sweet too.

Mind you, my sense of smell is horrendous since having Covid 2 years ago - even the shower water smelled funny this morning. It's driving me mad.

I don't have it, but I seem to smell it everywhere I go. It's so overpowering and people overspray so badly.

Also i smelt a strong whiff of Aromatics Elixir walking around M&S the other day. First time in years. Once upon a time i'd have loved it, but now it smelled ... like 1990 !

I love YSL Libre too. I have the intense version I think .It reminds me of hypnotic poison which I also love.
Also agree with La vie est Belle , Angel , Cocoa Chanel I am just not feeling them anymore .Must be hormones .or lack of them ! Although I still love Jean Paul Gaultier Classique as much as I ever did. I used to wear Joop all the time do they still make it ? Bet that would be too heavy for me now as well.

It's funny how quite a few people on a short thread have moved on from Angel when I've yet to even try it and it is on my sniff list! I quite like warm sweet scents though.

I went right off La Vie Est Belle years ago, far too powerful. Ditto La Nuit Tresor. I got bored of Coco Mademoiselle and Dior Cherie (Miss Cherie? Something Cherie anyway. I forget the name).

I was going to say Aromatics Elixir, I used to love it but can't stand it now.

DH bought me Tommy Girl years ago when I was newly pregnant with my first but didn't yet know it. As soon as sickness kicked in I went right off it.

JLo Glow and Touch of Pink. I used to love them but I think they both just remind me a of a shitty time in my life so I can't stand them anymore. Hugo Boss Orange now smells like stale cigarette smoke on clothes now.

One I have gone off though is Angel! It doesn't smell right on me! Love it on other people though!

I wonder if our 'taste of scent' changes with age?

I used to loathe anything slightly sweet and always chose spicy, oriental, woody scents. Since menopause kicked in there’s very few scents like that I like and now am drawn to more floral, sweeter ones. The ones I do still love are Van Cleef & Arpels Precious Oud and Penhaligans Halfeti. But I’ve gone off Tom Ford Oud Wood, Tuscan Leather, Jo Malone English Oak & Hazelnut and Oud & Bergamot all of which I loved.

Fracas. I loved it so much, then I went on HRT and now it knocks me sick.
