Any basics worth buying from Primark

I have an appointment in town today next to the TCR Primark. I never get chance to go there. I need tights, leggings and thermals. I would love a warm waterproof coat but have never really looked in there for big purchases. Is it worth buying from there or should I go straight to uniqlo next door?

Are the cosy leggings now called velvet plush?

Yes they are-I’m wearing a pair now-total game changers for winter dog walks!

Cozy fleece pyjamas are great. Plain vests. Make up is fab - I have some amazing primers which don't seem to be made anymore sadly.

Gloves and scarves are good.

I got lovely thick house socks and cotton tops for bed. Off to the make up now

I used to like their toeless tights for peep toe shoes. They seemed to last the same amount of time as much more expensive ones like John Lewis. Sorry- you need to click on the photo to see what I actually mean!

Just done a Primark dash and got:

109% cotton pjs (for 4 quid in the sale)
Hair drying turban
Gloves you wear and still tap your phone
Face powder puff
Pack of 3 Flannels
3 seamless crop top bras for home
Fleece lined opaque tights
Thermal vest
2 tea towels

Forty quid the lot!

I like wearing bodies/bodysuits and I've never found any to rival Primark. I size up about two sizes as I'm big boobed so I need the length in the body. I wear them with trousers and a jacket over for the office.

I recently got some of those velvet plush leggings - so cosy!

EachandEveryone · 17/11/2023 16:07

Well I bought some sequins incase I get glasto tickets. Sizes are outrageous

@MotherofWhippets81 oh yes! Their Skims rip off body suits are brilliant.

I’ve never seen menopause vests before. I’m glad to be back I’ve got my new super soft socks on. They had some lovely stuff on the hangers and I spent ages waiting to try stuff on. It’s not made for boobs at all. I know I’ve put weight on since my treatment but it was horrible trying size 20’s on when I’m normally a 14/16. It’s a shame about the leggings I’ve noticed they are online.

it reminded me of Old Navy in America.

I haven’t seen any decent cotton or jersey nighties for a couple of years in Primark. It’s all cheap satiny or roughncartooned things when I’ve looked.

EachandEveryone · 17/11/2023 20:47

Those gingham ones werent in. Im wondering if online is a better bet as the leggings are there as well

They're probably already sold out. We bough a pair for my eldest dd about 3 weeks ago.

Sports bras. Pyjamas. Vests. Long sleeved shirts, underwear and socks are basics for me from here.
