I just got a brand new bottle of Jo Malone Orange Bitters for my birthday. It's a limited addition which is only sold this time of year and it just makes me so happy as it reminds me of my birthday and the run up to Christmas. I only wear it in the winter. I just had a little sniff of it before I got into bed, that's how happy it makes me 🙂

My summertime favourite is O de Lancome which just reminds me of beaches and summer holidays.

I love how much certain smells bring up such vivid memories. What's your favourite?

Absolutely! I did and said some absolutely mad shit as a teenager which I'm very glad only exists in witnesses memories! If there were records at all, they were just 6x4 photos of unknown quality that you'd have to wait a week to have returned and that you could just destroy. Nowadays, youthful faux pas would be all over Tik Tok before you'd pulled your knickers up 😒

As my dear old Mum would say
“DRINK IN, WITS OUT, KNICKERS DOWN “

I consider myself so lucky to be born in 1960s so much freedom, so many opportunities , I would hate to be a teenager now. As me and my best friend always says we really have had the best of it.

@Deathraystare I’d forgotten about Ma Griffe - that and Rive Gauche were the first grown up perfumes I had, and they remind me of being young and off the leash for the first time at uni.

I used to wear Givenchy Gentleman - I remember buying it in a sale at the local chemist in my first job, so reminds me of that.

Guerlain L'Heure Bleu is my absolute favourite for the evening. For daytime Elizabeth Arden Red Door in winter and 5th Avenue in summer.

I intersperse the above with lots of others but these will always be in my collection.

Je Reviens by Worth reminds me of my childhood because my mother used to wear it. Wonderful deep scent. It still exists, I think, but it was reformulated and no longer smells the same. But I have an almost empty bottle of the original which I sniff from time to time.

The one my mates used to drench themselves in was Impulse Nirvana. You had to use a scythe to cut through the fug of it in a nightclub.
years later I discovered Liz Earle 15 which was very similar . Then the next bottle I bought smelled plasticity like a rubber dolly toy

I love the smell of Nuxe on other people
Bought a Penhaligon sample set but I liked none of them

I try to like perfumes but they don’t like me !

@SabrinaThwaite ·

Yes I remember Rive Gauche too. Reminds me of bright summer days. I also loved Je Reviens though I know a lot of younger people would have found it old mumsy but I rather liked the powdery smell.
