Airflow (Dental) - Results

I pay privately for full works scale and polish but it does not get rid of staining between my teeth. My hygienist is local, but dentist is 30 mins away as I can’t get into local NHS dentist. Anyway, I have asked dentist today what options I have for between teeth staining and he suggested Airflow, £125 for 30 mins.

Has anyone done it for this specific reason and if so, we’re you pleased with results?

It does work, but it’s uncomfortable, my dh had it and I don’t think he’d go again it was so painful. It was also £50 (midlands) so might be worth shopping around

I had it before my wedding and it didn't hurt at all (and I'm a massive wimp at the dentist). It was a little uncomfortable where my teeth are sensitive due to the cold, and not particularly pleasant, but it was effective. I doubled up with whitening too.

Thank you. I am in the Midlands too, sounds like I am being ripped off potentially.

I paid £80 in the summer (Scotland) in my own surgery. I’ve had it a few times over the years and think the results are great, but as a heavy tea drinker the staining between my lower front teeth is already creeping back. The powder/spray combo is quite a weird feeling and a bit messy - you end up with a “gritty” face immediately afterwards - but I have never found it uncomfortable.

It's amazing. It feels like a sharp shower on your gums but it feels so good afterwards. It does only remove staining which will come back.

Sorry I know this thread is a few weeks old but just wanted to say that i had this done today (Coventry) for £100. Didn't hurt just slightly uncomfortable on the most sensitive teeth at front but worth it. Lips very dry afterwards though and really thirsty. Teeth look so much better I'm really pleased!

Hi, I am new to mumsnet but wanted to post my experience with airflow when visiting the hygienist at my dental surgery. I have always hated the old descaling procedure as I have senstive teeth so I was happy to try this new method (plus I have four teeth with bonding which needed de-staining). It is like a water jet wash, however I felt like I was drowning in water so several times I had to stop the hygienist so I could actually swallow. It was quite distressing. I wondered if it was because the chair was so far back, unlike the dentist's chair, so water just shot down my throat. Anyone shed any light on this or had a similar experience. ?

I had it done, paid £120 and loved the results. Booked by daughter in too and will do once year going forward.
