Initially to say, I’m sure all your bottoms are very nice and I’m not jealous of them. Blah blah blah.

But do you not feel slightly exposed wearing them?

There’s a school mum that wears these. They really emphasise her bum, it looks like a massive peach!!

The thing is, you can’t stop looking at her arse in them

I think that's the point. People don't wear them for any other reason other than to emphasize their arse. There are loads of really comfortable work out clothes so it's not for comfort, it's for show.

Hedjwitch · 14/11/2023 21:13

I didnt know this was a thing. Saw some legging I liked; bright blue with darker blue "splotches". They have the scrunch bit and a splotch right over where my arse hole is. I'm embarrassed to wear them.

Scarydinosaurs · 14/11/2023 21:13

They look truly horrible and porn-y.

I hate them.

WeighDownOnMe · 14/11/2023 21:18

They give me 'long acrylic nails with loads of crap and fake tan stuck under them' vibes. Same aesthetic.

WhoWants2Know · 14/11/2023 21:19

I rode up the travelator in my local supermarket behind a woman in a peach pair of these. I never thought I'd be staring at another woman's backside, but I couldn't look away! It was like a black hole sucking in all the attention.

FrangipaniBlue · 14/11/2023 21:41

The only thing worse than scrunch bum leggings is the ten thousand Mumsnet threads about them

🥱

cheeseandketchupsandwich · 14/11/2023 21:08

A few of the mums at our school wear them. Found myself walking behind one the other day and for the life of me could not understand why she felt the need to highlight her arse crack

Exactly.

They are made to exaggerated the size and make the bum look more peachy shaped and they do work. I don't like them but I do think that if I was in my 20s maybe I'd be temped to wear them 😂 it's the same with tiny crop tops and shorts at the gym...I just think about all the sweat on the seats.

Is there a men's version of these?

I've seen a few men wearing leggings recently tbf.

I don't know what they do with their 'dangly' parts in leggings designed for men, wearing scrunch bum ass lifting ones would surely almost cut the coin purse in two? 🤔

Moonshine5 · 14/11/2023 23:44

What's the big deal? Do you object to plastic surgery too? It's a trend, you sound very judgemental. It's not harming you. I don't see the point of this thread, even the title is goady.

God help me if there a splotch over the woman's chocolate starfish, just what you want to see on the school run on a dreary Monday in Milton Keynes

I just googled these, and while I see the difference between these and the ruched ones, on the model they just look like they're too small and she's got a really bad wedgie! Do they not chafe when you're exercising?

I like this look but I appreciate it's not for everyone! Personally I find them flattering, I work hard in the gym and although my main focus is performance rather than looks, a pert bum in my mid-40's is a nice side effect and these leggings highlight my gains nicely!

This being said I wear them at the gym only, not on the school run or at the shops (unless I'm on the way to or from the gym but that's rare)

As for comfort, I find these much better to train in than regular leggings, the fabric feels like a second skin and the waistband doesn't budge at all. I get through a 3h powerlifting session (so lots of squats, deadlifts etc) without having to pull them up even once

sandgrown · 16/11/2023 07:35

Are they like baboons using their arse to attract a mate?

olderbutwiser · 16/11/2023 08:16

I had a trainee on a first aid course wearing these. In peach. Inevitably she spent a lot of the day on her hands and knees with her arse in the air. At times her vulva looked as if it was outlined. It was horribly uncomfortable for everyone else in the room. And she must have known it would happen as it was an annual refresher.

All power to you on the lifting and the nice arse, but I cannot understand why you want to highlight your crack?

I get it in teens, because it’s the age of very sexualising clothes, but there are loads of leggings you that don’t need hauling up and wouldn’t give everyone else a detailed eyeful of your nethers.

A few people where them in my gym and it’s like being in a strip club.

idontlikealdi · 16/11/2023 08:32

@GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut they not worn for exercising round here.

PenelopeTheShroudWeaver · 16/11/2023 12:21

@theduchessofspork this made me giggle, I don't mean to highlight my crack as such but it is flattering on the bum cheeks and if I ever catch my reflection it makes me feel good about myself.

On the point of leggings staying up, I spend a silly part of my disposable income on activewear and I have tried many styles and pretty much every brand out there from bargain basement to premium and the only leggings I never have to pull up are Amplify

I totally get why this look isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I like it 🙃

sandgrown · 16/11/2023 07:35

I know you were probably joking, but it really is very similar to that. It’s bringing attention to a very sexual part of the body, which some people enjoy doing.

I’m a massive prude so it’s not for me ☺️ but no judgement for those who like the attention.

bjjgirl · 16/11/2023 12:31

Some of the leggings show cellulite through them which looks awful.

I have some gymshark leggings very comfy and look great but they are not the scrunch bum ones - I think they look lovely on the right people thou

Riapia · 16/11/2023 13:28

They’re doing exactly what they were purchased for then.
😉😁😁

Webex · 16/11/2023 13:32

They’re a bit like codpieces aren’t they, but for women in a different age. Eye catching alright.

This is a great take, that's exactly what they are like!
