Uniqlo will steal your returned items and not refund!

Don’t believe me, just look at their TrustPilot. Lots of people have sent returns and thieves have stolen the items at the Uniqlo warehouse, and they haven’t been refunded.

I went on to write a review about the exact same thing and saw all of these other reviews. Wish I’d seen it before ordering. I ordered a coat in different sizes and only kept one. Uniqlo has refunded one beanie hat that was in the parcel but hasn’t refunded the coats worth nearly £200. They investigated and they claim I didn’t send them! Case closed, no refund. But they can’t explain how a parcel with only a beanie hat in it was weighed as over 1kg when it was picked up by Evri.

Avoid unless you want to be robbed!

I just got an email today saying my uniqlo dress hasn't been returned though i sent via evri at the end of March. If was through Klarna so I have provided tracking from evri which says it reached uniqlo so hopefully will be refunded.

I didn't realise there was an issue until seeing this thread.

@periodiclabel Here's a link to a credit card s75 claim template:

https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/section75-protect-your-purchases/#how

I'm worried - collected my online order at a London store yesterday. I tried to get a refund for one item that didn't fit but was told I couldn't do this instore. I'm hoping I don't have any issues doing an online return...

Uniqlo returns are terrible and I sincerely cannot understand why you can't return itms to store. I d shop with them a lot, and last time when I had a £30 top that I didn't like, I just took ot to store and exchanged it for school trousers and socks for dc. You can exchange in store and I just couldn't deal with the online return

When ordering, always, always pay with a credit card

TheYearOfSmallThings · 14/04/2024 18:57

I've heard Uniqlo do this quite regularly, to the point that I wouldn't order from them. I don't know if it is incompetence or dishonesty - I would hope the former.

stardust777 · 14/04/2024 19:08

@Pigtailsandall I did look for something I could exchange it with but the only other thing on my wishlist is the premium lambswool jumper (now out of season instore). I'm going to risk the dreaded online refund. I won't be ordering from Uniqlo online again!

bilgewater · 14/04/2024 20:36

I don't buy from Uniqlo any more, as I have also discovered to my cost (literally) that their returns service is shocking.

periodiclabel · 14/04/2024 21:38

Thank you @stardust777

i’m hopping mad about this – now I’ve looked at trustpilot and there are literally hundreds of reviews saying the same thing. This is a huge international chain. I’ve never had an issue with ZARA or similar, so what the hell is going on? Anyone reading this thread, I would urge you not to buy online from Uniqlo

SuperGreens · 14/04/2024 22:10

Marks and Spencer have just done this to me. Half the return has not been 'received' apparently. What a great waste of time this will be, emailing them, calling their useless 'customer service', making section 75 applications. Last time I'll ever shop online with them.

i’m reviving this thread as this has just happened to me – eight items returned only refunded for two. it happened before but they did refund me when I queried it, this time I’ve been told no dice. “This will be disappointing to you” 😡Those of you reading this who did eventually get a refund what did you do? Keep emailing them? I’m going to raise it with my credit card company but it’s really hassle i could be doing without. I’m so angry about this now I realise it’s a regular scam. i’m never going to buy online from Uniqlo again.

@periodiclabel I got a refund because I disputed the weight of the parcel. I returned a hat and two coats but they only refunded the hat and claimed I hadn’t sent the coats. So I pointed to the weight that the courier had recorded for the parcel and said “A hat weighs 2kg does it?” And I got a refund.

The rumour is that Uniqlo is being purposely targeted by a certain group of thieves, who are getting jobs at the warehouse purposely to steal refunded items. Uniqlo is completely failing to address this - other companies don’t seem to be affected, so Uniqlo is obviously just doing a shit job at rooting them out. I don’t buy from them any more for this reason.

Wow, wow, wow. This is practically a ‘Uniqlo support thread.’ I can’t believe how many people have experienced this with the company. OP, I had a look at the TrustPilot link and the ratings are AWFUL.

I haven’t shopped at Uniqlo for years but it’s not exactly a cheap shop. The fact that warehouse staff seem to be stealing items that have been sent back is madness. It doesn’t make sense why online items can’t be returned in store anyway. Glad to hear you finally got a refund but sorry to all the people this has happened too. I’m surprised seeing as it’s such a big company

periodiclabel · 15/04/2024 08:22

@Winwit thank you, but did you return with Royal mail because Evru don’t weigh the parcel. Hence the problem. I can well believe there is a proper organised gang behind this, it’s amazing a company like Uniqlo aren’t tackling it. if you’re reading this thread anyone do not buy from the online and remember if you buy in store they will only let you return to the store where you bought it from (this has caught me out in the past too.) Really really shoddy

Winwit · 15/04/2024 10:15

Yes I think I must have returned with Royal Mail because there was definitely a weight on the tracking info. That was literally the only reason I got a refund, because they couldn’t deny that a hat couldn’t possibly weigh 2kg.

The rumour about Uniqlo being targeted for theft is just something I read online, I have no idea if it’s true. Apparently orders are being sent out with items missing, as well as returned items going missing.

OP posts:
LAvortonDeLaLitière · 15/04/2024 10:18

Ahh, I know that when I returned two items to them they only acknowledged receipt of one, refused to refund me for the other and practically called me a liar! They need to get their act together - their shop staff are wonderful but their customer care team is appalling - their website is also a complete disaster.
