I want Gillian Taylforth's ageing gene

I'm no soap fan, I last watched a soap regularly probably 30 years ago. But I put the telly on just now and Eastenders happened to be on, and I recognised Gillian Taylforth from when I used to watch it years and years ago. She hasn't aged!! I mean she literally still looks EXACTLY the same as she did all those years ago, and she's 68. Some of the younger longterm characters haven't aged half as well.

I mean she must have had botox done or something to look like that. I'm 50 and she looks younger than me and I'm jealous. Do some people just age slower than others or something?

She's defo had fillers and botox and probably some sort of facelift, along with all sorts of other procedures for skin tone and texture. She also does look great on it, but it's defo not no work... No shade (I'd do the same if I could afford it! Maybe... I like wrinkles), but it's a lot of work, and definitely not just down to genetics.

She’s always looked fantastic and young for her age (aged a bit better than Ian Beale!) Her face does look fuller in the pictures above but I wouldn’t have noticed unless they were side by side.

She’s had it done well, unlike some celebs who presumably go for cheap options -and it shows!

I seem to think Cathy had a baby (Ian) as a very young teenager obv pre-eastenders, and GT was a bit younger than the character when auditioning. Not sure by how much.

No idea why I remember that trivia but it was on a programme. Why can't I remember useful things?!

I think she looks better now than she did she when she was in her 40s. She initially looked old for her age and now she looks amazing. A testament to good work! Would love to know exactly what she has had done. But I don’t think filler has featured heavily.

Not sure about that photo of her tbh. I think her face in that does look heavily fiddled with. Just something quite static about her expression and her mouth looks odd. Maybe it’s the position of her face when the photo was taken.

Yes she’s had a lot of work done, her partner is a director of beauty clinic.

I've not watched EE for years. It's depressing and got fed up of them bringing characters back from the dead. So I had a Google to see how old she is and this thread came up. So here I am.

she looks amazing whatever she's had done it looks great she clearly knows when to stop. unlike some other celebs.

She is gorgeous. She had lots of botox in the Footballers Wives days 20 years ago and id say a face lift more recently.
Having that bone structure helps too. Her and kate moss have similar features.

It's what's inside that counts. I ignore celebrities deliberately anyway, it's not as if they have saved any lives.

I could afford that kind of face lifting surgery but I refuse to do it. A good haircut, subtle make up that suits my complexion and lines, good clothing and off I go.

I'm 66 and I don't care who knows it.

But having said that, GT looks good in the pics. But being the cynic that I am, I think a lot of those publicity shots are meddled with using a massive airbrush!
