Unsure what to wear to party

DH and I are going to quite a formal showy Christmas event in mid-December. It starts at 2pm and goes on into the evening in a hotel, its organised by one of DH’s ex colleagues (who likes to flash the cash) and will be a Christmas party plus a 55th birthday party for his wife (and I think his daughter's birthday too). I imagine there will be quite a lot of people there of mixed ages and no expense will be spared! There be a buffet and dancing but not a sit down meal so not unlike a wedding reception. I’m stumped over what to wear I would love to wear something like this

but wonder if I’m too old for it and if its too OTT I’m 58 and 5 foot 8 and a size 10/12 so quite slim but have a largish bust (36D), what do others think? Should I play it safe with a more traditional dress?

Such a great dress, any photos?

I'm also same bra size and I would have major reservations about the bra. Tiny! You don't want to spend all night worrying your tits are going to make an appearance.....

Oooh just seen the update! Glad it went well!

@NashvilleQueen @Saxendi

Thanks for all the kind compliments, much appreciated! I’d really love to upload some pics but the problem is my 71 year old DH is a miserable old sod at times and very, very private and a bit secretive. He knows I’m on MN but he’d hate anything that could identity us or those at the party of which there were loads of guests (which is not to say others haven’t uploaded to FB and various other social media with me and DH in them – of course they have!) but for my part I tend to keep these things low key. Years ago (before social media so he can’t really blame that!) we were victims of a very nasty planned burglary whilst we were in the house and he’s a bit paranoid. He doesn’t like social media, he doesn’t do it and he mostly thinks I just look at MN rather than post! Oh, if only he knew….😀

Not even one before you went out with your face cropped out?
