I'm a cool summer - any tips or suggestions?

As someone who is pretty sure I've never been a cool anything, I've now discovered I'm a cool summer. Yes, I took the advice on here and went and had my colours done and it was a revelation.

Cool summer colours I've been told to go for are soft grey, white, most blues, baby blue, baby pink and then brighter blue, green and pink as long as they have a blue-tone. All colours I absolutely LOVE, but actually don't own!

I need to go through my wardrobe to see what I already have and what's an absolute no no, but I thought I'd pop on here and ask if any others had any suggestions or tips for where to start?

And make up - I've spent my life assuming I was more warm, so most of my make up, especially eyes and lips, are a no. Back to the drawing board...

I would ask if you are happy with the clothes that you already have in other colours? Do you feel good in them?

I did one of the online colour analyses years ago when a colleague kept telling me I wore colours which were too dark for me (she was trying to push her own business as she had just trained as a Colors analyst- but I took some of her advice and had a look online).

I came out as a soft summer and tend to wear the colours you have mentioned - but I still wear black jeans or leggings, and also black cardigans/jackets but I do leave them open so my lighter colour top is nearest my face .

I have always been aware that there were certain colours that didn't suit me - tomato red and ochre yellow being a couple. I used to have quite a lot of black tops/dresses but have just replaced them slowly - or worn them with a lighter colour cardigan/jacket over.

I wouldn't replace your whole wardrobe on the basis of this analysis- but perhaps use this as a guideline for any new clothes - and then consider do you think you do actually look better in those shades? As it's possible the analysis was incorrect .
