60s and seeking a style

Have tended to go for comfort above style but now want to make more effort and feel better about how I look. Very much for me, not for anyone else.

I'm tall, slimish, grey hair. Looking for ideas for everyday dressing - just for going out to lunch, shopping etc.

Or even some celebs I could get some inspiration from.

Any ideas?

Check out the That's Not My Age blog/Instagram, it might appeal.

What do you like?
Look in you wardrobe.... what is the predominant colour... do you actually like that colour..look at a paint chart... what colours draw you... what do those colour looklike against your skin and hair??
Do you like structured clothes or soft flowy things?
Dress/skirt or trousers?
What styles suit your lifestyle? For practical purposes... job, environment etc.. do you live in wellies or heels?
Take it right back to basics and start from there.
You dont have to copy anyone.. you can just be you!

Colourwise prior to going grey, when I had dyed brown hair, I would go for brights - reds, oranges, greens. However since embracing my grey hair which I'm really happy with, the brights don't work and I gravitate towards grey and blue. I'd guess sludgy greens might work too.

I'm sorted workwise as I have a uniform. It's popping to the shops or out to lunch or an early evening drink that I struggle with.

I like structured clothing but don't want anything uncomfortable or businesslike. For footwear I tend to wear trainers or low heel boots. No desire for heels.

Currently wear trousers but prepared to try a longish dress with boots.

Recently noticed a very few women of a similar age wearing an outfit of seemingly thrown together items and colours. They look, to me, stylish and different. That's a look I'd like to try but don't want to look as though I've bought the whole outfit from a charity shop, although my clothes often come from charity shops as well as John Lewis, M and S.
