Creamy non foaming face wash for sensitive peri skin?

I’ve been using the Superdrug Liz Earle dupe (https://www.superdrug.com/skin/face-skin-care/cleansers/hot-cloth-cleansing/superdrug-naturally-radiant-hot-cloth-face-cleanser-150ml/p/516251) for about 10 years but recently my face has become dry sensitive and itchy and I think it’s peri menopause related. I’ve switched up my moisturiser and other products for more gentle versions and now it’s time to try changing my face wash. I’ve not been using the cloth that comes with the face wash switching for cotton pads but still time to try something else I think.
Ideally I would like a mega cheap price point as I’m broke and been paying under £5 a time for the Superdrug one.

I’ve looked at an aveeno one and Cetaphil. Any experiences of these with sensitive skin or other suggestions? Want creamy and non foaming but a face wash not a cleanser.

Do you need to remove make-up?

I'm using either a balm (M&S one at the moment ) with the cloth or some Alpha H cleanser that I'm getting to the end of .
But if I'm just in the shower and nothing to cleanse off then a Konjac sponge -its very gentle and slightly exfoliating (also menopausal and my skin can throw a strop at times )

Cetaphil. Does not irritate the most sensitive/ upset or dry skin. Non foaming, no perfume.

Thanks yes I sometimes have light make up to remove (BB cream and eye make up) but usually use the body shop camomile cleansing balm if I’ve worn that. Will check out those recommendations and the Konjac sponge thank you!

Cerave make good facewashes for dry skin, also cheap and last ages

blibblibs · 12/11/2023 00:44

Another one recommending cerave, I use the one with green writing after getting a sample in a Boots freebie.
It's a creamy texture and removes my basic daily make up without drying my skin.

I have sensitive skin. Waiting for test results about being peri..I use Aldi’s hot cloth cleanser! Under £5 and I’ve had no issues with it.

fuzzystar · 12/11/2023 02:24

Cereave stung my skin. Cetaphil much gentler.

Tilllly · 12/11/2023 02:33

Body shop do a camomile range

NoTeaNoShade · 12/11/2023 03:53

A bit on the spendy side, but my dermatologist recommended that I use La Roche Posay Toleriane cleanser for my extremely sensitive skin. I've had no problems with it.

I got some Ponds Cold Cream recently and love it. It’s creamy but you wash it off with a warm flannel. I am 47 and my skin loves it. It takes make up off really well. You can also leave a layer on overnight too.

I smell like my Granny but it’s awesome stuff!

Nivea creamy gentle face wash in pink tube its lovely

JMTWords · 12/11/2023 12:42

Cetaphil really sorted out my face when it wen sensitive and I still use it but I wouldn’t describe it as creamy. Cerave gets great write ups but I’ve never tried.

I am currently using this most mornings - it is slightly creamier. My skin loves niacinamide to clear up spots but I use it in my serum too for more strength. I apply this to dry skin then remove with wet facecloth. Usually on buy one get one half price. They also do a trial size in the travel section.

La Roche posay toleraine. It does last ages though.

AuntieMarys · 12/11/2023 13:11

I love Cerave....after years of dermalogica this is so much better

SavBlancTonight · 12/11/2023 13:12

I love an oil based balm. I love my ridiculously over priced one but The Body shop do a much more reasonably priced version in camomile.

daisytrains · 12/11/2023 21:02

Just to add, Cerave also irritated my skin (many products supposedly for sensitive skin really aren’t suitable).

I second this. Love it.

BeretRaspberry · 12/11/2023 21:25

I use The Ordinary Squalane for makeup removal and then Rovectin Conditioning Cleanser for my actual wash. That’s not creamy but is really gentle.

theduchessofspork · 12/11/2023 21:56

I think cetaphil dries skin out (well mine and a few others I know)

Superdrug Vitamin E is really good

Loreal fine flowers cream gel wash for £2.66 is great.
