Please help my poor feet.

I am 62, overweight, I have flat feet and a tendency to plantar fascitis (spelling?).

What I need is a pair of comfortable shoes that don't make my wide fitting size 7s look awful, but are comfortable enough to walk a couple of miles in.

I have some Birkenstock shoes which are comfortable but heavy and make my ankles ache. Also have some Skechers, they were good in the past but they seem to have stopped making those particular ones I liked the replacements I bought are awful.

Happy to spend about £100 or a bit more if I can find something that works.

I am relying on you ladies.

Thank you.

I buy mainly Vionic Shoes as they all have specialist insoles for Plantar Fasciitis. I do have partial insoles that I can add to other boots but they're never as comfortable. Vionic do some wide fit styles too & walking shoes/boots. I have the walking unisex trainers & they're pretty good. Wearing Vionic slippers with great arch support was one of the best things for me though. If your feet are really painful a physio can help.

I second this. Vionic shoes are excellent: they've cured my plantar fasciitis. They have trainers, boots, shoes and sandals so you should find something you like. They look ok too.

FITFLOPS….all day long.

I also have Plantar Fasciitis, and have tried everything with no expense spared and FitFlops are the only make that work 100%.

A bit higher than your budget, but worth it.

Fitflop Rally trainers are the most comfortable footwear ever. Can literally walk for miles and miles in a brand new pair. Flatfooted, wide feet size 6 here.

Fitflop trainers are good.

It is hard choosing online, if you're not doing so already definitely go by their sizing guide and measure your feet. Sometimes customer services are really helpful with recommendations. Where possible I use Paypal pay in 3 or Klarna pay later because ordering 5 or 6 pairs to try can wrack up a hefty cost. Always check the return process and see if it will be convenient for you, some need lots of docs printed as out of EU, some need DHL which is not close to me and so on.

I've had plantar fasciitis in the past and FitFlop worked the best for me. They don't only make flip-flops, they make lace-ups (that look a bit like Vans), ballerina-type slip-on shoes and even long boots. The absolute worst were crocs-type clogs (not the real thing) which cause pain after about 5 minutes. I've heard other people say they were good for PF but maybe their feet were wider than mine.

I suffer from fascitis and had a major problem with everyday shoes. Bought a pair of Camper low boots, I am DELIGHTED! They have a little bit of a heel, and I can walk in them without any problem. For the weekend, I wear Columbia walking boots.
I do not think that being overweight has anything to do with it, it is just the way your foot is

I also second Fitflops, although the quality is not so good and they last only a year

I come on these threads for us dodgy footed to say if you want sandals, buy Strive. Most supportive fit ever, and some stylish ones too.
