Works Christmas Party Dress (On a tight budget)

I need a dress (small budget) for my upcoming works party which was simply entitled "dress to impress" I was thinking of this.

other places are jj’s house (new) or Poshmark (probably like vinted).

otherwise I’d just raid a friends closet - but I have the luxury of friends my size.

and I’d do that first dress with a light brown ankle bootie probably cowboy style or something light and lacy or strappy

I like the dress and the shoes but I would prefer 20den tights or holdups for a party type event

Yeah dont wear your underwear with a see through lace dress over the top to work. party or no party.

I like lace and have definitely wore see through lace tops like this on dates to gigs in dive bars before but it totally not appropriate for a work function.

Its entirely the wrong type of impression to make.

I'm going to go against everyone else though and say it looks quite cheap. There nothing wrong with 'cheap' (like I said its within my dress style) but these have never been expensive/fancy style item... they are more the dressed down sexy and trashy type not 'glamorous and luxe'.

This dress with a slip is beautiful,without a slip its shocking. Who would go in front of people like that 😳

a work party remember is still an extension of work. Don’t show your pants to your colleagues

@housethatbuiltme the dress comes with a black slip - so OP would not be showing her underwear .
