Eve Lom. It's so lovely.

YeahBut · 11/03/2008 08:34

I love clarins. I have irritable skin and the clarins is always lovely and calming.

I would go for a balm type one such as Eve Lom, but there are a fair few cheaper alternatives around.

I can't use Liz Earle as I seem to react to the Eucalyptus oil in it, I think Eve Lom has it as well so maybe look for an unscented one.

never tried eve lom or clarins, how expensive is eve lom ?

Don't use foaming cleansers on dry skin. I use Boots soft & soothed (cheap and cheerful) with a muslin cloth.

Dermalogica. Ihave dry sensitive skin which was in a state during my last pregnancy and this stuff sorted it all out. I swear by it now. i get the dry/sensitive skin kit with every thing in you need for 15.oo although I have seen it more costly in a lot of places.

I also have dry, sensitive skin. You could go for Clarins (dry, sens) facial wash or a cheaper brand (which I'm using at the mo) is the Nivea Visage sensitive range of products?

JerryErnie · 11/03/2008 15:19

Forgot to say... If you use foundation go for a Clinique one as they specialise in matching foundations to skin type.

I have improbably dry skin, and the best cleanser I know is by Bobbie Brown. It comes in a jar, and looks, oddly, just like lemon curd, but doesn't dry me out at all.

For moisturiser, I use clinique during the day (as has good SPF) and a Kiehls one at night. I also find it worth using some kind of serum/moisturising cream under that when things are particularly bad.

I agree with EffiePerine - don't use foaming cleansers on dry sensitive skin, or if you do, don't use them every day. You can't afford to strip the oils out.

thanx for all the replies

No idea about cleansers as I have very oily skin but you could try Advanced Facial Oil from Beauty Naturals website. It's about £9.95 and comes with a dropper. You only need a few drops and it's all natural oils containg pumpkin and rosehip. I use Dermalogica dermal clay cleanser for my oily skin and that works a treat but I can't get on with any other Dermalogica products. Liz Earle has a fabulous face mask and face expoliator I adore them.
