Slippers and trainers/boots for after an op.

Hi all I'm looking for recommendations please. I'm having a hip replacement in December and want a pair of slippers to wear afterwards and some trainers/boots.

I'd like the slippers to be sheepskin lined so I won't need to wear socks, they need to have backs too, no mule styles and I'd prefer a thick'ish shock absorbing type sole. Don't care what they look like.

Trainers/boots need to be easy slip on if possible and supportive too. I care more what they look like as I want to be able to wear them once I'm recovered, To justify the probable expense.

Sketchers do slip on trainers. I find sketchers to be the most comfortable and least stylish of my trainers.
I would look at Uggs offerings for your sheepskin lined shoes.

My mum’s just had a hip replacement and is using Sketchers slip ons…though she hasn’t been far. She’s 2.5 weeks post op and went for a walk outside for the first time yesterday. And this was only up the garden and back. She has otherwise never worn trainers in her life but she’s finding the sketchers a good option.

She also has some slippers very similar to the grey uggs up thread, though I’m not sure hers are sheepskin or wool lined. I imagine they’re only cheap because she normally wears her Ugg Scufettes (mules) and these are more of a stop gap until she’s back to normal.

I wore fleece lined clogs after my hip replacement. No need to struggle with socks. Very sturdy, easy on/off. Enough at the back to stay on but no so much I couldn't slip into them. Suitable for house and garden. Inexpensive too.

Whatever you choose, bear in mind that you won't be able to bend more than 90 degrees at the hip for some weeks, so you really need to be able to get them on/off without bending down to them at all.

hi @MontyDonsBlueScarf thanks for the info,
I had a hip replacement 5 years ago so at least I know what I'm in for the 2nd time around. I'm looking forward to it but not at the same time.
