Is it safe to colour my hair while pregnant?

Hi there,

I'm just about 13 weeks and would like to get some highlights but I'm not sure how safe it is to do any colouring to my hair now. I really need some make-over because I look worn out all the time, and make up is not helping.. Thanks

It's fine. But if your hair is already highlighted see a hairdresser before you DIY it with semi or perm hair colour.

yes it won't do anything to the baby
no in terms of colour

it's rather unpredictable ..colour may turn out differently (eg bloody orange instead of blonde what a waste of money that was)

I think it's safe but I had a strong reaction to hair dye when I was preg with DS2. It really stung my scalp and had to be removed and a different brand used (I'm too vain not to bother!). So it might be worth doing a test patch first as I've never had a reaction to hair dye before or since.
