My birthday and Christmas are very close together and the time of year is coming where my lovely family ask me what would I like… of course all year round I have ideas and then my mind goes blank as soon as November hits.

I have a 1 year old and currently pregnant with my 2nd DS so avoiding clothes (as I have no idea what size I am) and experience gifts (as minimal time at the minute child free).

What is on your wish list MNetters? Thank you!

Nice PJs, Marks and Spencer beauty advent calendar, books, posh hot chocolate flakes.

EllaPaella · 04/11/2023 09:51

@FormerlySpeckledyHen still searching for the ultimate one.. tried Molton Brown but not impressed- in fact the Bayliss and Harding one was nicer and had a better scent.

DH asked me the other day. I don't know it is my age (53), or maybe I am just contented with my life, but I can't think of anything I want materially. Then my favourite big coffee mug broke this morning, and so a new big one would be nice. But I can't honestly think of anything else.

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 04/11/2023 10:06

Oh added to that, either Prestat, leonidas or Charbonnel et Walker chocolates.

Nellynoo182 · 04/11/2023 10:37

Some really lovely ideas and some things I hadn’t heard of which are worth a look thank you! Also some great present suggestions for other people. @Netcam I am 28 and the only thing that was on my list was Wrendale design mugs so you’re not alone in appreciating the value of the perfect mug 🤣

@orangetriangle ooo your list has lots of things I love on it! Wella Luxe Oil has been an absolute miracle worker on my post natal hair - you can buy it on Amazon for about £13 and it is honestly amazing !

My lifestyle is pretty different to yours and I'm not that interested in toiletries, but my Christmas list this year will be:

This knitted hat - other colours available.

Books - for myself I'd ask for something on sewing, pattern cutting or fashion history, but when my child was toddler age, it was short story collections as I couldn't stay awake for anything longer.

An online lecture or workshop (or two) with the Victoria and Albert Museum. Prices for some of their courses go up to 3 figures but the lectures and one-off workshops tend to range from £6-£15, and the beauty of them is, you can follow in your own time. Or if that's not your thing, something on a topic you're interested in.

An online subscription to something or other.

A nice espresso cup - I love a bit of everyday beauty and luxury.

Lambswool Fair Isle Hat - Red

Our Lambswool Hats are knitted in Scotland.   Key Features: - 100% Lambswool - Available in a Navy, Red or Orange Fair Isle design.   Care Instructions: Hand wash with cold water and air dry laid out flat. Do not tumble dry. We recommend that to save w...

For me I want a nice pair of slippers or inside shoes similar to uggs but not uggs 😁 also some cosy sweaters. Honestly I'll buy for myself as I'm a single mom to 2 boys so I'll just say they are from them 😂

uncomfortablydumb53 · 04/11/2023 15:41

Sheepskin mittens as I can't use gloves but gloves!
Favourite Mac lipstick
A snood
Shower cream
Hotel chocolat pralines
You could ask for good body cream to prevent stretch marks perhaps?

Sunshineismyfavourite · 04/11/2023 15:48

Slippers
Ring from Pandora
Daisy Eau so fresh perfume
Glossier perfume roll on
Rehab your hair perrfume
Color Wow Dreamcoat hairspray
Bum Bum Jet set

Topbird29 · 04/11/2023 15:50

Shower gel- molton brown (gingerlily), l'occitan (almond) or rituals (cherry blossom)
Spacemasks - don't like the lavender smell on most heated masks- these aren't over fragrance (and not lavender).
Baileys
Books
White company candle - the winter one
Hotel choc pink champagne truffles
Jigsaw puzzles.
Slipper boots- I like the bedroom athletics fluffy ones.
More or less ask for the same each year, so pretty easy to buy for really!
Although I am also fussy, so have asked DH for no shower/bath stuff that isn't what requested, and no diffusers / candles unless requested - mainly as I am quite sensitive to smells and know what I like and what don't like (won't get used!).

I have a September birthday. Some of my best presents were -

Box set of Agatha Christie Miss Marple paperbacks. I think they come from The Works or The Range. Really easy comfort reading.

Flavour Thesaurus sequel called More Flavours. Loved the original and like this one being plant-based.

Kerastase shampoo and conditioner set. I find Aveda really over-scented so this is my preferred treat brand.

Selection box of different citrus soaps. I think they are called Il Fruitetto. Was sent via Amazon so easy to find. Really clean and refreshing scents and better for the environment than shower gel.

Eyeliner/shadow gel from MAC. I was given it with a Lancome Definicils mascara and a little Chanel magnifying mirror and individually they’re all amazing HG of products, and together a killer smokey eye combo.
