Menopausal, straw hair. Can it be transformed?

Morning
Almost overnight, my shoulder length, highlighted hair has turned to straw, Nothing has changed apart from my age (49) but it's totally unmanageable. If I dry it straight it goes wiry, if I try and curl it the result is almost matted.

Are there any products which have worked for you? I'm having a couple of inches chopped next week (in despair). Willing to spend on products if someone can vouch for them. Thanks in advance.

Not to put a dampener on the collagen recommendations, I am sure that it works for many, but although I really need something for my menopausal hair, I couldn't take it at all because it made me feel nauseous. I thought maybe it was just one brand that made me feel sicky and a little shaky, but I tried several, with the same results. I tried tablets and powder but nothing suited. I am fed up about that. Anyone else not able to tolerate collagen supplements?

Really tempted to try Oribe now, though, thanks to this thread!

You will love it. But it’s dangerous because it makes so much difference that I don’t want to use anything else but Oribe!

I have the same problem and the L’Oréal bond repair set, pre shampoo, shampoo, conditioner and leave in serum have transformed my straw like hair due to menopause.

I can now swish it and it’s lost the candy floss texture. You only use it once a week though I use the leave in serum every time I wash.

Anyone tried the Kerasatase leave in mask?

Yes, Osmo works for me too. I get big tubs of it from Amazon, and use it twice a week now.

I have Collagen, at least 8 types of fruit and veg a day and my hair is as it was yonks ago...but I actually think a good hairdryer also helps, I was quite amazed at how shiny my hair is using a Dyson. Also I use a hair mask once a week and a heat shield spray when I style my hair...

Take a look at Boldplex on amazon, supposedly superior to Olaplex. I have purchased and hair is definitely smoother.
