Shoes to go with this dress I'm wearing to get married in!

I've booked our wedding, simple ceremony with 2 witnesses and we are getting married shortly.

I bought this dress second hand, it's Richards, from the 80s. It's beautiful. I'm getting it tailored to fit me perfectly.

I need help with shoes please, I'm thinking nude Mary janes or something similar? Suggestions welcome.

Also, jewellery? I'm not a jewellery person so no idea..

Think nude patent ones would go lovely

I love weddings like yours OP, I like this level of simplicity and focus, and with nice clothes that you can wear again. We had a simple registry wedding with two witnesses, afterwards dh and I went to a nice restaurant for lunch. We were home by late afternoon. Not many people knew we were getting married, but one of the few who did left a cake and champagne at our house when we got home, that was such a lovely surprise. There were so many things about the day that were unplanned and perfect, really sweet. It was a great day. I hope you have a wonderful wedding.

Even though you’re not going for the “traditional” wedding attire I’d go for blue shoes for your something blue. I think a navy would look good.

I think some low platform sandals would look fab with this dress either in gold or silver Esska do some lovely ones but are a bit pricey next and monsoon also do nice ones . I think Mary Janes will make the overall look a bit frumpy.

personally I would go simple pearl earrings or necklace and cream shoes such as Manolo’s or Emmy (they are both very comfortable brands). There is no OTT on your wedding day and as Oscar Wilde said, ‘you can never be overdressed’

The Esska Charlie shoes are really comfortable. I had a badly broken leg/dislocated ankle a few years ago and they are the only heels I can wear. The block heel is good and with the small platform they aren’t that high. I love these ones
