Size 16 to cover my mum tum. Had the M&S ones but going thin after 3 washes. Bought the innersy ones but, although very comfortable they seem a bit see through. Any recommendations?

John Lewis any day full knicker

Kittensat36 · 29/10/2023 14:09

Had a look at Modibodi. Well tried. They won't let you into their site unless you sign up for marketing emails.... Without knowing whether their products are suitable.

Sloggi maxi pants, come on all colours and last for ages. Proper granny pants but sooooo comfy

RosesAndHellebores · 29/10/2023 14:15

I haven't had any problems with M&S knickers and find they outlast Tu. John Lewis Any Day are fine too.

I wear black ones in the winter. Have about 15 pairs and buy three new about once a year.

Admittedly, the quality isn't what it once was but compared to the supermarkets I still find it better.

Lifestooshort71 · 29/10/2023 14:44

I buy big knickers from Next.

nameXname · 29/10/2023 17:19

As others have said, Sloggi. Very good quality. Terribly boring, modest - am I allowed to say that? - knickers designed for real-life women of all sorts of shapes and sizes. Comfortable and last well.

StarlightLady · 29/10/2023 17:28

100% cotton has no stretch or give, so, in my view, will never be comfy. Eiter too tight or baggy.

But that is not what you asked OP, so I'll get my coat.

Would definitely like sone with Modal, thinking about it i had some m&s modal ones years ago but have been unable to find them since....
I said i wanted citton as i wanted them to be breathable and not nyl

Innersy ones from Amazon, I got a pack last week after recommendations on here. They're truly the pants from heaven - thick cotton, really comfortable and don't move. At all. I sized down to get a good fit but they're honestly the best knickers I've ever bought.

Theforeverhome · 29/10/2023 18:36

Sloggi Double Comfort Tai. Last forever and I think they are a bit thicker than the maxi. I have a couple of pairs that I only use when I’m on my period and I’ve had them since circa 2003! They have no holes, elastic hasn’t gone like some of the other Sloggis I bought at the same time (which did last well - just not 20 years 😀)

Agree. I get the shorts and they wear very well. Better quality than M&S in last few years.

vernatheraven · 29/10/2023 22:09

Asda knickers seem to last forever.

Frosty1000 · 29/10/2023 22:31

I swear by wirapa full briefs off Amazon, very thick so semi controlling and good quality.

Amaya4 · 29/10/2023 22:33

Dunnes

CombFromAShoe · 30/10/2023 10:19

3rd vote for the John Lewis ones, I have both the cotton and microfibre in a few shapes and colours and they're great. Some have lasted 10+ years!

grrrrarrg · 30/10/2023 10:23

Not black but these are the best I've found.
I bought the Wipara ones a while back that people recommended in another thread (and on this one) but I found them very uncomfortable.

Radiant chaos handmade knickers ( and comfy bras ) every day of the week. She will do plain if asked ( I have all sorts of crazy materials off her ) so bloody well made and long lasting. And most of all COMFY

MymateDave · 30/10/2023 10:24

Tesco. £4 or £5 per pack. So comfy!

RavingStone · 30/10/2023 11:22

I like aforementioned Wirapa and Uniqlo and have recently added to my excitingly sexy pant collection with Snag. They're like the Wirapa ones but IMO better as slightly more fabric means less vpl and they come properly up my (high) waist. They're very smoothing and feel as if they'll last forever.

StarlightLady · 30/10/2023 11:29

If you have VPL, all it means is that you have knickers on. Which most people do, most of the time.

Tiredallthetimeneedsleep · 30/10/2023 12:42

Is the sizing true to size? Im a ( generous ) 14 or a 16

I'm the same size as you. Looking at the snag size chart put me at between a D and an E. I've ended up buying both sizes and they both fit, depending on where I am in my cycle.

KnittedCardi · 31/10/2023 10:10

Sloggi. Have tried others suggested previously on MN, and gone back to them. Fit nicely, cotton is nicer than bamboo etc, wash well and last. I don't buy from Amazon, weird personal anti view, so I only buy direct or through stores.
