Hairdryer

I used a hotel hairdryer recently and was amazed at a) how efficient it was and b) the feel of my hair after- I didn’t even need to use my straighteners which on my shoulder length thick hair was amazing,

Therefore I’m looking for recommendations for a replacement to my cheapo 10 year old Remington dryer.

What would you suggest ? I don’t want to spend £400 on a Dyson but am open to suggestions up to maybe £150?

thank you

GHD Helios. It’s £179 full price but you can usually find it on offer somewhere to bring it within budget.

I also have the GHD Helios, I love it and get amazing results. I tried the Parlux before that, but although it would have lasted forever I couldn't get on with it.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 28/10/2023 09:29

This is interesting,I have had 2 Parluxs but have been looking at the Helios.

I have the Cloud 9 Airshot and really love it, I rarely need to use Straighteners anymore after blowdrying

IdealisticCynic · 28/10/2023 09:43

I love my Parlux. I think it might be the 3800? Mine is years old but still brilliant so great value in the long run too. Think I first heard about it following a recommendation by Sali Hughes.

Parlux. I’ve got an Alyon.

use GHD ones at the gym. They are heavy in comparison.

Did you recognise the brand of dryer that the hotel had?

Bullshot · 28/10/2023 11:13

It was Corby - the company that supplies vacuum cleaners to hotels too

Not sure if they are available for non business customers

I had heard of Parlux on here years ago. Interesting that they are still popular . Are they heavy ?

will check out the GHD and the Cloud Nine also

Nisbets -
Amazon
( I had a quick search but I don’t have brilliant connection)

I have a Dyson, bought from QVC on 4x easy pay ( I think it was £350ish , I know each payment was £80ish) . My DD uses it more she has long thick hair and doesn’t need to touch the straighteners after using it.
My hair is the opposite, fragile, grey , regrowing wavy at the roots after hair loss. I use the smoothing tool and the cool settings

I did say to add after the first month “are we keeping or returning.”
“Keep it”😉

I found the Corby hairdryers. I think the others which have been suggested on this page look to have more features so would aim for one of these instead.

I do like the smaller dryers. It must make doing a thorough job much easier on one's own head.

I'd get a Corby then, I just googled and they're cheap enough, if they worked get one of them.

The one i used was about £160 on the website . So not dissimilar price wise to the Cloud 9
