Late 40s and lost my style - help!

I'm hoping the collective wisdom on here can point me in the direction of some brands/items I haven't thought because I just never know what to wear. I like to look slightly boho but I'm short and cant wear high heels so any voluminous, wafty things are out. I'm happy to jazz up simple outfits with earrings and scarves, and i like trousers and dresses equally. Budget is high street, suggestions would be gratefully received.

2 things:

Firstly, the price of good clothes has risen - if you find easily affordable things on your ‘High St’ they will be polyester tat, barely held together with plastic thread. So you’ll need to accept that where you might once have spent your budget on six items, now you may only be able to buy two that have any aesthetic / tactile appeal or long lasting value.

Secondly, you need a reliable alterations service to whom you can take your new purchases. The AI designing off-the-peg clothes doesn’t know your measurements (yet …) and isn’t paid to make clothes to specifically fit you. Buy what you like, (in natural fabrics because synthetics are awful to alter), and have them tailored to fit. (Knitted things are admittedly more problematic.)

@sherridan have you looked at Free People? Lots of Boho on there. I particularly love the Osaka jeans & the thermal tops/t shirts.
If you like Cord wide leg trousers to pair with Boho inspired tops there's some good ones at M&S. Likewise the faux leather trousers there look good & wash & wear well. I'm little & wear flatform shoes or stacked trainers mainly. I've lost the ability to walk in heels unless for very special occasions.

Free People is always such an absorbing rabbit hole to fall down.

Also worth looking at:

https://www.youngbritishdesigners.com/shop/

They’re re-doing their website at the moment but also have a sale. Excellent place for finding new brands you can then chase up on their individual sites.

Another is

Plümo

It is mostly not High St cheap - but the sales are generally good and the fabrics usually better than most places.
