What to do with faded coat?

I’ve got a navy blue fur lined coat from Joules that has started to fade around the cuffs etc. There’s nothing wrong with it so I don’t intend to get rid of it, but is there a way I can fix the fading with dying the whole thing, and destroying the fake fur? It would be visible in the hood so I don’t want to fix a problem by causing another, possibly more visible one.

What materials is the coat made from?

Remove the fur first then dye whole thing? (Assuming that it’s a 100% natural fabric?)

Could you remove a strip of the fur lining and add furry cuffs to hide the fading? My furry lined coat is fur fron waist down, the upper section of lining is quilted

The fur is sewn in, so can’t be removed. The coat is apparently cotton so would take dye well.
The cuffs idea is interesting as I could cover them but the fading is visible on the button band and ‘high-use’ areas.

I don't think the dye will take on the fake fur as it's a man made fabric. I am re-dying some black trousers this weekend if I can find some fur I can chuck it all in and see what happens to the fur.
