Oil Based Moisturiser recommendations please...

Hello! I need some s&b assistance please! I'm going to Lapland and the recommendation for moisturiser is not to use anything water based. I've done lots of googling, but I'm still none the wiser. Can anyone help with a recommendation please?

Oils are different to oil based moisturizer and some are even indicated for oily skin so won't be much good for hydration!

Skin Food, as recommended above. Blue Pot Nivea or Astral.

SPF 50 will also moisturize.

I'd take la Roche posay cicaplast baume. Very moisturising. Not sure if water based or not, but it's the best moisturiser I have and I use it in cold weather.

So confused, as Google says its only oil base if an oil is the first ingredient on the list (ie. The greatest amount of it) and all those above that aren't 'an oil' have 'aqua' listed as the first ingredients. Do we think that's still OK? Have spent alot of time & money sorting my skin out, so just a bit concerned 😟

This cream by Weleda is the absolute best for extremely cold weather conditions IME. Also great for little ones' delicate skin issues in winter (its original purpose), it's a proper oil moisturiser, no water, but it does contain some essential oils that can be irritating to some.

Not particularly pleasant but plain old vaseline should also do the job.

Calendula Skin Protection Balm 30ml — Weleda

Protection from harsh weather for delicate baby skin from Weleda. Perfectly protected with the rich, natural formulation.

Neal's Yard wild rose beauty balm and Skin Food are both good but the thing that works best for me is Vaseline. Every autumn when the heating comes on I get sandpaper skin and cracked cuticles on my hands and Vaseline is the only thing that keeps it at bay.

Maybe get some lansinoh (lanolin sold for breastfeeding) and have it handy in case the moisturiser is not enough? Sold in lots of supermarkets.
