How do I stretch/make my new trainers stop rubbing at the heel?

Bought some Adidas Gazelles, exact same style and size I've had several times before and the heel is slightly rubbing - presumably it's been squashed forward a bit and I need to un-squash it - is there a good way to do this other than wearing them in for short periods of time?

As you can see the back bit is sort of raised (this is a stock photo).

My other ones are super comfy so I'm confident they should get to that stage! Stuff them with something!?

A spray with an aerosol deodorant can stop rubbing sometimes. No idea why but it does work.

Can you get some shoe trees to push the heel out a bit?

Here in the EU you can buy:

Collonil Shoe Stretch Spray

I am sure it’s available in uk!

Alternativéy, try Micropore with silicone on your heels until they are looser!

I pop them under a heater to warm and then wear slipper/thick socks to stretch a bit

As above, heat the backs up then wear with thick socks until they have cooled down, and they'll mould to your feet. A good blast with a hairdryer works really well.

If they're rubbing because they're slightly too big, get some padded heel grips to stick in the back. You can buy packs of them on Amazon.
