'edgy' earrings

Not quite sure how to describe what I am after. I want to buy my friend a pair of earrings, budget around £35, sterling silver. She pretty much always wears black, and always looks good and polished, with clothes like the ones from AllSaints, with some edgy details, but kind of understated and plain. I'd really appreciate some recommendations for earrings that are not too classical or dainty, that have some chunkiness to them and look good on a 50 year old woman. TIA!!

Try regalrose

Uno de 50. They aren't sterling silver but are very good quality and a bit unusual imo.

@TwirlyWitch I love everything on that site, how have I never heard of it before!! Thank you for that. A few pieces will definitely be going on my Christmas list!

WideLegPant · 19/10/2023 00:01

Could you look for silver ear climbers for something a bit unusual?

KnickerlessParsons · 19/10/2023 00:02

Look on Etsy. I get all my earrings there

Some gorgeous earrings on the V&A shop!

I'd also look at wolf and badger and anthropologie for earrings.

Britneyfan · 19/10/2023 01:03

These are cute, maybe not chunky enough for what you’re after but difficult for that budget! I do agree about looking for ear climbers maybe.

Skagen is also brilliant

Allsaints sell silver jewellery. Regal Rose are good, quite like Shaun Leane but within budget

StarlightLady · 19/10/2023 06:45

Depending on where you are, sometimes art gallery shops offer something a little bit different.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 19/10/2023 07:03

Also Folksy and Etsy.

I was going to say All Saints jewellery too. There’s an Italian run jewellery shop that does edgy earrings in Old Street/Shoreditch area but I’ve forgotten the name, I bought some black edgy earrings there.

Independent gift shops with pieces by local artists often have something, A L’Etage 2 is local to me.

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 19/10/2023 09:11

You could also try Cos jewellery but won’t be silver (I think).

Cult of Youth, no question.

Most of her earrings are available in sterling silver or gold fill. She is a one-woman operation and if she makes your item to order there can be a lead time of a few weeks but if you need something sooner you can message and she will be able to tell you what she has in stock. I love her pieces.

Limonatamum · 19/10/2023 11:16

@ThanksItHasPockets thanks for sharing cult of youth - LOVE! OP I think this is it. If she wears all saints vibe stuff I think avoid anything too glitzy!

I am so glad you like her stuff and I jump on any opportunity to tell people about it. I follow her on Instagram and she is really honest about the challenges of running a business as a single parent. My favourite piece is one of her lockets, which I wear most days and get lots of compliments on.
