Can anyone please recommend a good leave-in conditioner?

Would really appreciate your recommendations. I'd like to attempt a return to my pre-menopausal smooth long hair, rather than the fuzzy rats tails hair I've ended up with.
Would prefer if it wasn't heat-activated, as I often let my hair dry naturally.
None of the products I've tried have touched the sides really, so I thought a good leave-in conditioner would give it an extra moisture boost.
Many thanks.

I would recommend Paul Mitchell "The Conditioner" - the original. It's leave in and I've found it works beautifully. I didn't actually realise it was a leave-in type when I first got it, but am very happy with it. Also post menopause and never use a drier. My hair is very soft and silky with it.

Ooh, thank you all. I shall look into these.

K18. Expensive during the 'loading' process, then you just use it once every 3-4 washes and use a normal conditioner in-between. My hair looks tons better and stays looking respectable for longer between washes too.

I second Aveda! I know you said not something for heat styling, but if you did want to blow dry occasionally, colour wow dream coat has given me back the hair I had in my 20s to the extent that I'm considering growing it:) Have a look at YouTube/ TikTok, it really does do that

My hairdresser used and recommends this. Just bought it myself and very pleased with it.

Can anyone please recommend a good leave-in conditioner?

Totally second, or third, the Aveda botanical repair leave in treatment one. In fact I've just run out so will order some now before everyone else realises how good it is Smile

I have fine fly away hair and the only one that actually improves the end blow dried result is Got2Be oil. I've tried others but always go back to it

So do I !

The Aveda is a bit pricey but you need so little of it.

Independent business: 'Soaps for Little Suds' for alot of very good haircare and one of the first ingredients for the 'bar in a bottle' conditioners is shea butter.
The owner is lovely and can advise on care for your hair type.
Highly recommended.

Thank you so much everyone. I've opted for the Aveda Botanical leave-in treatment. I managed to find a small-sized new and unused one on Vinted for cheap, so I don't feel like I've got much to lose by trying it. If I love it, I'll buy the bigger tube and report back! Thanks again Star

I like the Giovanni direct leave in
Depends what your hair needs really.. hydration is from water, maybe it needs some protein?

NomDePrune · 17/10/2023 22:12

The Aveda one has been in the M&S Beauty advent calendar for the last few years- full size, worth about £25, so it may be worth finding about this years contents if you like it

I've posted this a few times, I bloody love it, just finished my first bottle and have another ready. Shoulder length, highlighted hair. https://www.lookfantastic.com/pureology-colour-fanatic-spray-200ml/11124912.html?gclid=Cj0KCQjw4bipBhCyARIsAFsieCwq9KbVoSGVGxL6TrTCIBjlP45I2JV_pur_LrOStdrFkW03TI2HJX4aAv7FEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

I second this, it’s brilliant.
