Is there a male equivalent to a comfy house cardigan.

I love a cardigan to wear round the house when it's chilli, I have several that just cover the bum, no buttons and just enough fabric to wrap round when sat watching telly, not overly chunky but easy to take off when cooking etc. I was thinking that my DH could do with something similar.

@BlackJumpsuit "That's quite cute!"

I agree-and he is. But he's nearly 23, so I need to be very careful what I say!!

Yes a fluffy dressing gown. 🤗 A man would never buy one himself, but would never take it off at home if bought for them.

The reason my husband now has hoodies is that he kept stealing my fluffy dressing gown…

yikesanotherbooboo · 17/10/2023 18:40

Gilet or cast off hoody from DSes in our house.

Oblahdeeoblahdoe · 17/10/2023 18:43

My DH has a baggy jumper his late mum knitted for him about 40 years ago. He also has an alpaca ruana a la Clint Eastwood 😃

This company do some gorgeous/chunky/not-too-perfect clothes (Daniel Craig wore them in one of hif films apparently) DH loves this stuff & I usually get him something for his birthday/Christmas

C1N1C · 17/10/2023 19:15

Buy him a cat. It's manly, like Blofeld from James Bond.

:)

@TheFireflies and who could blame him really?

Fahbeep · 17/10/2023 19:33

Poncho. Like Clint Eastwood as the man with name. DHs would all defo go for that.

Borland · 17/10/2023 19:55

My DH has this one from Uniqlo which he wears all winter.

How can a person not be a “hoody type of guy” 🤯

What about getting a dressing gown, removing the belt and making if into a 3 button double breasted jacket buttons?

Or Borg jackets. Most are zip. I’ve come across this duffle coat… only available in s/m. You could get the hood removed.

Too short?

This comes in black or rust - too long?

Those borg jackets are nice but too bulky to wear in the house. I've just bought a cable knit River Island cardigan of vinted for £3 so will see what that's like.

I bought one of these for myself in the sale a few years ago and it's wonderful

Woolovers are good quality, my husband has a couple of their jumpers for wearing outside of the house (inside, it’s Yoda ear hoodies all the way)

Firsttimecaller · 17/10/2023 20:26

What an amazing link! Never mind DH; I want the emerald velvet abstract print!! Off to start a crowd funder...

CurlewKate · 17/10/2023 20:44

@NotMeNoNo "About 20 years ago I knitted DH a really chunky cardigan after he showed me a picture of Starsky in the famous one."

Must be the 70s. You saw Hutch down thread?🤣

beetr00 · 17/10/2023 20:59

Joe brown quality is a bit hit and miss but.... (in case your vinted find is not quite)

I'd never wear a hoody either (I'm a woman). Hoods are just bloody irritating.
