Skin becoming greasy around mid afternoon

Morning ladies, I have a bit of a new conundrum with my skin, possibly linked to hormones but while my skin has always been a bit greasy I have now noticed that I do my skincare in the morning and my skin feel great but by around 2pm I have a rally oily forehead and nose. I'm not really sure what I can do about this and am not usually in a position to wash my face again at this time.

Anyone else experienced similar and have a solution?

Do you use make up?

I'm wondering if a setting powder or matfifying primer would help

I have VERY oily skin! I've got some bamboo blotting paper off Amazon and it helps so much. Removes the oil and shine but doesn't affect your make up. I sometimes have to use more than one sheet I'm so oily. I used to just put more powder over the top before I discovered the blotting paper and it used to make my skin look awful as the powder combined with the oil

I have this too. Agree that blotting sheets are good. I used to use a Max Factor mattifying primer, which was great, but they've just discontinued it, and the replacement I bought made the issue worse. Following for tips.

Not usually no although I do have skin tints/bb creams and powder.

Blotting papers! Remember them from the 90s! Will give that a go thanks.

I have this problem, I find using gel based moisturisers and serums helps, anything creamy including a cream cleanser makes my skin worse.
I've never found a good primer that makes a difference but setting spray helps. I spray it onto a make up brush and dab it on rather spraying over my whole face. You can get it onto the areas that need it most and round the nose better this way. I do this after I've put my foundation on and then again to finish off.
Blotting papers are good for touch ups as other have said too.

Thats interesting as I did stop using a gel moisturiser just before this started happening. I didn't feel it was moisturising me enough in the cooler weather.

this plus the accompanying serum (applied after washing my face and before moisturiser each morning) has completely cured my oily skin, it’s the only thing that’s ever worked. Good luck!

Blotting paper as pp have said, and also Zero Sebum Powder. It's very good.

So after first few days of using this facewash it does seem to be helping!

I am finding the serum quite hard to apply I guess it just absorbs quickly before you can spread it.

Following with interest as I've always had this issue! I find that wearing Eucerin oil control face sunscreen and putting benefit primer over the top helps a lot. I also console myself thinking I'm likely to get fewer wrinkles later than other skin types 😉

PepsiMaxLime · 16/10/2023 11:17

@LivingDeadGirlUK great to hear! Maybe warm the serum between your hands before applying?
